I've seen references to missions that it isn't recommended that you complete. Is there anywhere that lists these and explains why you shouldn't complete them?

Thanks

are you talking about the zolazin mission that requires debris??? cos some ppl like to farm the zolazin ships cos they are good exp  not completing that mission means the ships will always spawn. resulting in easy exp.

IMHO Decrypting The Vault mission. It costs 178 Energy per hit with 100 hits per completion x10. Fair enough you get ships that spawn the RSL Cryptex which allows you to knock 10 hits off but for every time you complete 1 completion the next lot you can only use one less than the previous so if you used 8 RSL Cryptex to help you complete the mission before, you can only use 7 this time and it keeps going down for every completion. So by the end of it you are using over 30k Energy and what do you get out of it? 23 Scientists x10 = 230 Scientist. Damn thats alot of energy.

I don't keep that mission up because of the energy requirements, don't really care about that. Main reason I keep that mission active is for the Rogue Data Analyzer NPC, it's easy to kill, gives good XP and also gives 200 research when you kill it.

Not to mention it lowers the spawn rate of Flamehawks... That's the best reason to NOT finish Decrypting the Vault.

Dark Theft. For the NPC to lower flamehawk rates and because they are rank 110, so become VERY easy targets.

Ruler of exotica.

unless you a) have a huge amount of attack power and b) actually want it for "status" reasons, it's not worth doing. It just lowers your scan odds (it's unpurgable).

Invasive action mission, don't want exotica to take up any space for your planets.

EDIT: *ivasive  to invasive

IMO I hate these things and want the mission completed ASAP.

But it also Lowers your chance for Rares or Elites. In the last month I have had to live with the Alerts that legion members have for Elites. and I have only gotten 3 rares

I've not noticed any significant drop-off of elites/rares on my battle tab since ranking into the mission. Though to be fair, I have been doing more PvP lately. Still, until you can easily kill Flamehawks, its a fair trade as those can be harder to kill for sub-400 players than many elite/rares.

Destroyer what rank are you? I'm rank 563, they are one of the easiest kills on my BT (aside from Sha'din Chargers) I'm going to keep them around as long as I can

I haven't noticed a drop off in elite/rare spawn rates either. I haven't done mass NPC kills in about a week or two though, but last time I did, there was somewhere around 20-30 elites/bosses alerted by me, as well as a bunch of solo rares. (over a 4 hour span while I was searching for the new mission NPC)
