Hi
someone recently invaded one of my planets
now im still fairly new to planet invasion and such, but needless to say they captured it, mainly due to its lacking in defences but when i went to invade it it says i have 19% chance
so my question is how do i raise this? I out match this player quite well to the looks of technology as i have better buildngs, defences (both ship and planet) and im slightly higher in rank.
as said were both real low levels (so sorry if this is rofl worthy to you big players) but heres how it stands:
Planet:
defence- 1900
attack- 100
cloack- 0

My ship:
attack- 1480
defence- 648
no invasion bonus but i do have a artifact to increase invasion attack by 200 which i will use

otherwise when it comes to attacking to get my planet back, i will uninstall some energy tech and maybe some hull to make addition power/defence during the attack
which would be best for invading attack or defence? i assume attack as it is obvious i dont need defence against them but if you attack and defence are both higher maybe its easier to capture?

as said im not all fully sure on this invade system but i would appreciate some help on what to do to get my planet back? or at least increase that 19% (my artifact might help raise it a little)

the formula to work out chance of invasion isnt know exactly but its something like your attack must be atleast 2 or 3x more the planets attack+defence to have 50%-100% chance of invasion success.

somthing like that anyway, thats the way i work it out

so in this case would i need to be looking at around 4000 attack for a 50%+ chance of capture?

To have the highest success chance (90%), you would need approx 6000 invasion attack.

the formula to work out chance of invasion is well known.... just have to know the information about the planet and the ship invading it...

Your ship's total invasion attack = ( ( A * B * C * D * E * F ) + G + H ) * I * J * K

A = all regular attack from modules and tactical officers on your ship (just use your unbuffed attack value for this one)
B = 1.05 for ancient crystal foci if you used it
C = 1.1 for crimson obelisk if you used it
D = 1.15 for crimson amplifier if you used it
E = 1.1 for crux amplifier if you used it
F = 1.08 for emitter overcharge buff from universal service terminal if you used it
G = all +invasion attack bonuses from modules on your ship (don't just check the weapons section, some hide elsewhere)
H = +bonuses from mutagenic cartridge or stryll pathogens if you used them
I = 1.07 for 1st atmospheric decimator % bonus if you have it
J = 1.07 for 2nd atmospheric decimator % bonus if you have it
K = 1.2 only if the attacker's race is Konqul

The planet's total invasion defense = ( A + D + I ) * L * X

A = Planet's total attack with buffs/debuffs but without guards or legion bonus (pull from first column of colony page, it already includes passives)
D = Planet's total regular defense with buffs/debuffs but without guards or legion bonus (pull from first column of colony page, it already includes passives)
I = Total of all invasion-only defense structures, before legion bonus (you'll have to add these up manually)
L = Legion Bonus multiplier (take the value of the % shown on the planet, divide by 100, and add 1)
X = 1.4 for Xecti Racial Bonus (only if the defender's race is Xecti... you might have to search their legion to get this info.. if they are not in a legion, you won't be able to find out)


Now for the chance of invasion: A / 3D

A = ship's total invasion attack as calculated above
D = planet's total invasion defense as calculated above


if this value is over 90%, it gets capped at 90%

wow awsome forumla, i will have to save that ^^ it is very good at working stuff out with, takes some time but thankyou very very much as it is very helpful

one more question if someone doesnt mind:
when using a planetary vortex deflector does it disable current effects or just stop efffects being added?

stops future artifacts and abilities... anything currently on the planet stays till timers hit 0

I cant recall how many times ive failed on 90% chance invasions. totally empty att/def planets and I fail repeatedly. I would have to say from what I've seen, the invasion system is broken or misleading at the very least.

Exactly 90% chance, key word being chance, it's not 100% so there's still room to fail, jus unlucky is all it is.
