Is there any advantage to clicking the "all" button on the right of the receive artifact shipment box?
I know to wait until I have a lot before i take anything to increase my chances of getting something
better but somehow I don't remember seeing that all option before.

The only advantage is less clicking. Ideally you figure out what artifacts you want and which ones you want to avoid, and you always try to collect when your AP is above the amount of AP required for your desired drops, and below the amount of AP required for drops that you don't want and which don't overlap with the range or the ones you do. That's the only way to maximize receiving the artis you want.

Example, if I really want Rescued Prisoners (4K AP), Ship-Bots (3K), Android Helmsman (2K), Durtanium Brackets and XCharge Cells (1.8K), but I don't want Continuum Beacons (5K) or Mass Storage Pods (20K), I would always try to collect when my AP was under 5K but above 1.8K. If I chose to maximize Rescued Prisoners (4K), then I would try to collect at over 4K and under 5K all the time.

Other than using the fact that the amount of AP you have determines what artifacts you have a chance for to exclude certain artifacts or always keep them in the running, there is nothing else you can do to affect the quality of your artifact drops.

The collect all button was added since many of the really high ranking players didn't want to spend 10 mins clicking the collect arti button over and over in the morns or after work. When I get up most morning I have over 600K arti points saved up and by the time I was done collecting them all I would all ready have another hours worth. lol At lower lvls and for those who get less then 20K arti's an hour it isn't nearlly as bad to click them one at a time and many enjoy seeing what they get one click at a time while others think it gives them better arti's for some reason.

It kinda does give better stuff to manually do it. Thou it is negligibe
take the 4k ending case in above, collect all will more or less "waste" 3k or so of AP most of the time each time you use it.
that's about it, not worth the effort if you got a 100k+ bar tbh
