What is Exotic Matter good for?

 I'm told I'll need it in higher ranks but what exactly is it good for?

There are missions that use it to create things, or to allow you to build special structures.

Exotic Matter is used for a bunch of missions that will allow blueprints for an Exotic Cannon, Exotic Barrier and Exotic Lab (best of the 3). Additionally, you can also use it to get a mission that will allow you to 'flush' your NPC list.

you will aslo get a mission (stalar cartography) wich gives star chart purgers

Once the stuff accumulates into the billions it should collapse under it's own mass and form a new exotic planet for us. Would be the best use for it. :p

there is also a mission that gives you a temporal flux that lets you flux a world that has not been attacked in 7 days.
