I have been playing this game for a while now, but the other day i was advised to start PVP. ATM i am lvl 47 have two kills and 3 ion cannons. BUT every player in my battle tab is 60+ and have insane combat reputations and weapons i couldn't comprehend. WHY cant i find people more around my playing skill??? >:\

Ok you should have more kills regardless of anyone elses skills

this guy is from my legion, he doesn't play that often but wants to get into PVP, who cares how many kills he has, i got my 1st kill at lvl 80 or so.... and going by the ships he alerts, he is being targeted by ships well beyond his skill.

I'd recommend dropping off any installed scanners and adding more guns. The higher your scan, the more likely it is you will be finding bigger ships on your tab. Perhaps just a bit of cloak would be a good idea as well.

Also, by 47 you should probably have phase cannons... or at least plasma

yea drop all your scan modules that will bring up pvp'er closer to your rank ..... invest in weapon research and hull
