So I've started dabbling in the bases Theory Lab, invested at least 70 attempts, but to no avail, no discovery. I'm not delusional and know its designed to be a rare treat you get from them, but roughly how many attempts does it take to make a discovery? Are we talking 100 attempts (based on the 1-2% chance) or are we talking millions of research?

assuming the 2% chance per single attempt for first success, multiple attempts give you the following cumulative probabilities of getting that first success

50 attempts = 63.5%
100 attempts = 86.7%
114 attempts = 90% (and we know how often people complain about failing invasions with a 90% chance of success)
147 attempts = 95%
228 attempts = 99%
342 attempts = 99.9%
456 attempts = 99.99%

hopefully you've gotten your first success by the 500th attempt, in which case your base percentage lowers (by an unknown amount) and the trial starts all over again... for the second success

Well i get at least 50 attempts a day based on earnings so by the end of the week hopefully i can claim my first win on research!

For The Unknow to get the 14th item, we spent around 10 million RP @ 28000 per try to get it.

Well around my 100th attempt ive finally discovered my first, the demon world maker. Nice.
