When installing and uninstalling various components on your ship, does this reduce the life expectancy of the items? In other words, if I did not use this apparently rather common practice, would these components last longer? (I realise that it would make alot of things much harder.) I was recently forced to repair all my relays to the same cost as if I were purchasing them new, less the minerals required. |

I dont really know what your asking but I do know this. Every time you un-equip a module, that module looses 10% of its durability. This has no affect until the module reaches 0% durability, in which it must be repaired for a cost (iv never seen the repair cost exceed the cost to make one). By not un-equipping your modules you will not have this happen but you will lose energy each time you rank up and versatility. |

If you uninstall an item, it reduces condition by 10%, so if you uninstall it 10 times you have to fix it, paying upkeep repairs it if its not broken |

Quote: If you uninstall an item, it reduces condition by 10%, so if you uninstall it 10 times you have to fix it, paying upkeep repairs it if its not broken I notice that after paying for this repair, that the condition goes back up only to excellent, and not perfect. Is this a declining scale? Ie: the next time I have to repair them, it will only return to very good condition? |

Quote: Could you have been broke when the maintenance timer rolled over? There's a maintenance timer for repairs? ![]() I recall that it initially gave me a repair price of 5.4K, so I went into the install new device tab to check the price of a new one, then went to the trade tab to see the number of minerals I had, then when I went back it was quoting a price of 6K. I remember thinking "crap! the price went up!" but it was essentially the same price as a new one, less the minerals, so I paid the toll... thats when I hovered over the condition and saw that it was not perfect. Hence my original question. |

Hence my original question. You dont have to repair within a certain time, but every 24 hours you must pay upkeep to keep all your modules from losing 10% durability |

Rephrasing from my understanding SpoonyJank wrote: Could you have been broke when the maintenance timer rolled over? "Perhaps you could not pay for the daily upkeep, so the module took damage resulting in it being broken?" |

I was aware of that timer, just was thinking there was suddenly one for repairs too. That explains the 10% discrepancy in durability, but considering I had about a half million credits at the time, I doubt that is why. |
