Is one shield point worth more than 1 hull point or something?

Light Magnetic Deflector Shield +20 size 10 where as Titanium Plating Hull +20 is size 5 so you can get 2 times as much hull as you can shields and it will work out at exactly the same size. I don't care about how much credits it cost but, what should i get? I want to reserch either shields or hull. With wepons being my prime reserch branch i want to then concentrate on shields or hull as a secondary branch. If this helps im a konqul raider and i get attacked a lot.

shields, IMHO, are designed to be used once you have a maximum amount of hull installed.... they are less efficient per deck size and are generally just bigger per tier than hull.... unless you have abundant deck space i would suggest only running hull....

im assuming you're new, and therefore hull is far superior. you get far more protection and money isnt a factor for you yet. shields aren't desireable until rank 150
