Invasion defence v defence

 What is the difference between invasion defense and defense on a planet. For example soldiers outpost gives 300 invasion defense, but doesn't show in the colony defense tab.

Only regular defense is considered when you are ATTACKing a planet (killing the population) but when you hit the INVADE button, Invasion Defense gets factored into the equation. Related to this, there is Attack and Invasion Attack. Attack is in effect when you are killing the population but Invasion Attack kicks in when you attempt an invasion. Read this thread in Strategy in its entirety for a better understanding of the Invasion calculations..
