I was wondering how you upgrade you scanning ability. ( I am currently level 10 and I STILL have only level 1 scanning)

Help would be appreciated.

Research tab -> Advanced sensors (research this to get scanners)

Once done, you have to install them on your ship (Devices-> install new device)

I did as you have suggested but I it still won't let me build a scanner on my ship

then you do not have the credits, decks, or materials to build it.

how much does it cost/space/resource to build

depends on the module, should say in game, and tell you what your lacking when you try to build it.

Im not sure what i am doing wrong I have Researched Advanced sensors and I have plenty of decks and $$$ but it is still telling my i have not researched any devices yet. I am level 6 if that matters

The first scanner is available in the research after 'Advanced Sensors', called 'EM Scanning'.

Although its a bit late, I have added some starter scanners to the game for newer players.

So you advise to add cloaking devices to planets so new players can't find it and then you boost there scan? Kinda circumvented the effort there.

Edit: Yup damn level 6 just found my supposedly rare terra planet that had a cloaker on it. 4x Mega Rich on both artifacts and research (because I terraformed it) And in order to take it back I gotta turn around and spend 8 mil on it? Ive got mines and stuff but its not worth it.

just how much cloaking do the planet cloaks give? i don't see how a lv 6 could have enough scan to find it. that starter tech is really not that great. it was meant to be better than nothing to help new players...

depends on the cloaking device, they're pretty powerful for the most part, personally id just consider it dumb luck.

I wonder how many decks or whatever it is talking about when it specifies the space required for the different upgrades. I've just about finished researching sensors but can't upgrade the ship because of space latest is like 16 spaces and I can only use something with I think 2 spaces maximum.

This is really stupid as I've upgraded the decks several times and no improvement in what I can load!

Could you explain that a little better?

Edit: 1 point into deck space = 1 deck space added.

Have you tried removing everything other then the scanners because scanners a designed to be huge, so huge that you may need to remove everything but the scanners to use more then 3. In fact iv never been able to use more then 3 at a time, but i do have a tiny ship in comparison to my rank. (just got 100 wootzorz) So it may just be that I simply havnt put enough into decks.
