when and how is the best to use the Planetary Aegis?

I've never used mine and I'm rank 440+.

Perhaps if someone fails to attack one of your planets and they're below rank 500 a planetary aegis is useful but it only helps for a week and unless you've got a planet flux that won't be enough to stop a high rank player trying for the planet or alerting it to their legion.

you only get one... if you reset your account you DO NOT get another...
and the stats on it have never been adjusted after better researchable gear was added...

so it's only good to protect you once, against a low to mid level player.... basically it's worthless in my opinion... just forget you even have/had it

Granted, I noob'd mine a long time ago on what was at the time a worthwhile planet that I felt needed liberating, but I wouldn't say they are "worthless." Keep in mind that in a full (standard) legion, you would get a 100% bonus on it. Giving you a total of 10k defense for 0 space. A lot of high ranks regularly flux probe their good planets so if you scan one, you might need to rush an invasion. So if you take a juicy planet (even from a high rank player/legion), brick it, aegis it, and vortex deflector and it gives you 24 hours to come up with a flux. 7 days really, if you keep the vortex renewed as they expire. Hell, brick it well enough and park a few guards and you might discourage them from even tapping it, enabling you to use a temporal orb flux. So, fairly useful at the right time in my book...

i used mine when i went on vacation on my best planet just in case

5000 planet defense used to be a big thing. Now its nothing well at least for some

aye, it's comparable to having one more mid-level person guarding the planet


and... repeating myself... once you use it, it's gone... you can't un-use it, you can't reset to get another, and even though Dan said in a post somewhere on the forum about other ways to get one, I haven't found any more or known anyone who found any more...

you might as well play as if you don't even have it,... that way whenever you do use it or reset, you don't stress yourself out about not having it anymore...
