When doing a scanning run, is it possible to locate "player created planet" ? The wiki is not really clear on this, other than dysons, and shadow planet (which it states "Once discovered for the first time though the mission, Aphotic planets can be discovered by other players through normal scanning." ) but as for demon/crystal/Ecumenopolis/plasma ect. it does not say if those are scanable or not. Just wondering if I should keep scanning or stick with the normal ones I already have.

on a side note, what happens when you have enough planets colonized to exceed the max scanners for finding a planet... are you sol? Doubt I'll get that many personally, but I like info :-)

I'm not 100% sure on the first part, but I'm pretty sure all planets can be scanned, regardless of being created by a player or not. Again, I'm not SURE on that.

As for the second part, new scan modules/scan enhancing artifacts are always being added, so for the top of the top players, they can improve their scan if they want to. I think you mean enough planets scanned to make your scan chance rating bad instead of colonized. Even the top player has way more than enough planets to colonize. Although, they have soooo many credits that they probably just buy planets from other players every 4 ranks, or STEAL them.

I'm not an expert on these things, but I'm pretty sure of everything I said. :P

you can scan demon, plasma, gaia, crystal, and irradiated planets whenever

ecumenopolis is same as the aphotic and i think sentient planets are the same too

As far as finding planets it never stops. You can get star chart purgers to remove crappy planets from your scans which will let you scan more planets.
The big people do this in bulk usually. They will save up a bunch of purgers then do a scan run.

With 5k arti you can easily get 2-3 purgers a day

just to add what the other guys said...
if you can't increase your scan, there eventually comes a point when you have so many planets in your list (even unoccupied ones count) that you are so deep into the "very poor" chance of finding another planet that the blue scan button turns gray and is unclickable... at that point you must either purge or increase scan to continue scanning planets..... however,..... even if your button turns gray you CAN still obtain planets through critical hacking

thanks for the info. I will go back to scanning, I gotta be able to find better than what I got now...

as for the amount of planets I ment that you had colonized not just ones that could be purged, but after running the numbers, it is not possible to be able to colonize that many planets before the level cap. forgot about critical hacks for getting planets though, but I was suprised to find out that you can get any planet that they have scanned, not just ones they own.
