Ask in a few weeks, but (if you don't already know) put res into energy and RP into decks for now...until of course you need some guns/hull/def |

thanks guys ill keep you updated. I dont have no trouble with offense, as thats not my concern. My legion has given me 30 halycron traps and ku, so I won't be getting disabled :L Thanks, Ill do that once I get the 5+ research structure ![]() And some more decks, I have been decking it the last 10 or so levels, So I can start putting energy modules on. Planning on not getting any weapons, just maximize decks enough for energy modules and for 3 or so scanners. And maximize maximum energy as far as possible, and accumalate very good artifact production in time. for the stat incease. (If I upgrade my energy modules, for 2 days rp/hr. My max energy should be around 700 which should level me up 5 levels a day for 2-3 days) But Im thinking of getting research hourly up first, because I think thats the way to level up quickly. When I got enough production for scanners and to afford good planets)Ive got 2 barren small planets, abundant. I didnt know about the size and the % increase, But I guess the 2 VM 1+ MEGA RICH crystal planets make up for it (my legion tries to steal them off me lol ![]() |

No offense netz but your build is crap. When I first saw your setup, I thought, "This just needs to be completely reset." The reasons I think this are simple, your levelling should be based around your research and planet access. You don't list your planets but the modules you've researched are terribly odd to say the least. For your level EVERYTHING is below average (most very far below) for your level except for the Base research and planetary installations (which you should've stopped at 4). With your module research so far behind, there's no real point in you levelling as you'll just get slaughtered and underperform (no matter how many halc's you have). Just to make sure I wasn't being too harsh, I compared your stats/etc. to any of the noobs in my legion and you were far behind. Even when compared with those players below level 20. I can see what you're trying and I might even applaud it if the rest of your research was up to snuff. Since it isn't, you're just setting yourself up for a very harsh experience. You need to rethink thinks from the top down and be a little more patient. |

Thanks for your reply. I see where your coming from, I am much weaker then most others, I, myself. The strength of my ship is based on mission rewards and completion tiers. I do know my ship is much weaker for those of my level. But combat wise is not what I am considering in the build of my ship. If youre level say 200? I will soon pass you at rank 300. And I bet those who you stat me up against played 3 - 4 times as long as me. Good luck, happy playing. Research is the key, heading towards sucess ![]() |

I remember being like you... Thinking leveling up was the best thing you could do. Too bad I regret that so much at this point. You really should slow down and try your best to just take it one step at a time. You still have a chance to recover and become much better. What you need to do is stop focusing just on missions. I would take 2 things of energy to do your battling and then 1 to do missions. Also start researching weapons and defences and hull and... well everything you skipped over. Skipping over is a BAD idea and you will get mowed down by every person you see with those stats. Believe me, I was just like you. |

Just so you know, research is not everything. Early on, yes, research is important but a good artifact income is vital. You wont notice much until you get to about 2k AP/hour by which time you'll start getting a nice number of perma buffs to improve your ship. These include alien data disks (+700RP) and Android Scientists (+4 scientists (Research Crew) |

GL in going onto the leader board ![]() What area in it are you hoping to go onto on the leader board? Because you will have to catch up about 800ranks and that's providing they stop leveling. It's unlikely that you will be on it any time soon. I would do npcing if you want to lv fast though. It's the best for ranking. I would start with weapons, hull, defense and energy. |

I think you may have a long term strategy. Getting your resource production up early is a smart move. I think your research is pretty good for your rank. Some people follow a slow rank strategy which means their ship is great for their rank. Others rank fast. If you're ranking fast then high research is very important. Personally I think research is important until you get research contracts - I got them around rank 500-550. You need a good ship for PvP and NPC. If you're not doing that then you don't need much ship stuff. You can throw your research into energy. The explorer bonus means you'll find some good planets. If you want to fast rank later on then NPCing is the way. The drops also boost planetary production. In a really good days NPCing I can get 4 Toxic Purifers - that's about 2 week's worth of the Mylari production enhancing bonus. The Scourge ships at the moment also provide planetary bonuses but it'll be hard for you to get them without a better ship. |

Thanks to you all for your advice, Im currently getting some decks on board and doing a tiny bit of research towards weapons so I can get those scruuge behemoth artifacts, They are really tough for a fast ranker with no weapon power. So once I get those modules installed it should be enough for protecting my ship from being disabled in a click. I am planning about not going for decks and get artifact production to get those ship-bots? if thats what theyre called? for the decks in the future. And just mass out energy. Ill provide you guys with my current stats in a couple days time. (ive been taking it easy since scruuge behemoth, so it does not get any stronger when i level). rank 44 - research production 800/hr also still have 10 trimatrixes/cubes |

Have you considered putting rank points into both? As in a 2/3 split? This is better than being dependent on ship-bots at such a low artifact rate. |

Honestly, i think youve made a mistake in your leveling strategy. Yes, missions are ok at best for leveling. you get about a 2.3 xp ratio on most missions. the best ones are the ctp missions at 200 and the starting prejor missions, cause those yield over a 3. But doing missions overall is a pretty bad idea. If you want to read up on the absolute best speed ranker, look at binary man's old posts. I assume that this is your first run through so i'm not going to scold you on your mistakes, but to put this in perspective, when i do missions i usually get at most half my xp bar filled. when i npc, i easily get 4/5 of my xp bar filled. At rank 450+, its a good idea to start slow, and build your ship up to amazing strength as you go. Work for Drannik as your race, and get as much artifact production as possible. Put all your prisoners into energy, and youll go far. Now, dont get me wrong. i made some serious mistakes early on too. i honestly didnt know there were planets above extremely abundant till past rank 50 (to show you my luck with the game), and i put 3 levels worth of rank points into cargo. I ended up having substandard artifact production, and only now i am able to catch up to players at my rank. granted, most are ccers with a dyson and some rifts, but thats now the point. ![]() And just so you know, when you get to higher ranks, your damage cap increases. since you have no hull or shield, you will most likely die in one shot. and if youre cleared in one shot a halcyon will not help you, as halcs dont protect the ship from raids or hacks. so, not only will you have another disable under your belt marking you as the easy target you are when you fall below a balanced combat rep, but then they are free to raid and hack you. And again, as you level the more resources they can steal from you in one raid/hack. At your rank i'm guessing they can steal about 50 mineral or artifact points, right? when i raid people i get over 1500 mineral or artifact points. Same with hacks. The only advantage you have there is you are rocking scanners so you may be safe from hacks till you hit the higher levels. Another downside of playing as you intend to, is once youre past 600, not only do alot of nice npcs stop appearing, but players have a very limited battle tab choice. Since you are planning to skip over weapons, hull, and shield, youll look like a cargo multi and get destroyed. Since you dont have any cloak up, this will most likely happen multiple times a day... Trust me. sometimes a player replaces a quantum firewall since theyve been on the bt and i trip it. thats almost a guarenteed disable for me, and i have about 1100 kills, which is not a deterrent at all. Also, since reds are rather hard to come by for higher levels, any way they can get them is worth is for those dominion cannons or base scans. So, incase you thought to yourself TL;DR, this is the gist of what i'm saying. Talk to Binary Man or read his old speed ranking threads. Its not too late to turn around on your gameplay style, i strongly urge you to mimic binary man's advice and gameplay style (i think he restarted and is already over rank 500? something like that). And yes, we've all made mistakes, but it just takes dedication to work around it. Incase my words fall on deaf ears, i wish you the best of luck, and that you are successful in your gl career. |
