Over-all, Kronyn helps tons w/ research. However, at 500+, Taltherian can boost your art production immensely, especially when combined with the Excavator proffesion.

Well if your research is low then I would go with Kronyn so you can get higher research which later you can use for credits.

Mylarai...I don't see the point to if you can cash in your research points...

Taltherian if you have it unlocked then it is always a win in any book. Higher AP per hour means a better ship.

Right now I am rank 273 as a Kyonyn and am slowly unlocking Taltherian. Will switch once I make all my gas planets x15 I am sure.

Word! I'm a 600ish Kronyn, nearly doubled my research since August by doing up VM gas planets and making them plasmas. The way I see things, Kronyn is a fairly easy (once you get past the flux probe mission) race to unlock and gives a nice boost to getting the research contract unlocked and getting you through the base research chain a little faster. I also see it as a stepping stone as you work toward unlocking Taltherian. In the end, artifacts rule.

i just want to point out that the cash payout from minerals ends up being a bit better than from research (and many people don't like stalling their research when they need cash)
