 Defending a 15x Mega!

Just a matter of opinion here. If one of you gets a 15x mega rich planet, how would you defend it?

I'm about to change to Mylarai and I don't want crank up a 15x mega just to have it swooped away. :cry:

(required legion member count edited to account for new max scan now because of datastream compilers)

thats nice for kronyn, but its awful as a build for a mylarai planet... dan needs to add more buildings for artifacts and mining. artifacts specifically, as there are next to none, but mining too, as there are very few available. especially buildings for mining and artifact that add cloak.

i only use 12 space with what i listed.... do what you want with the remaining space on the planet....

As our glorious feline leader would say, Mylarai is rubbish. Think about it, if you find more than 1 Blade Harvester every 3.3 days, you're in better shape planet boosting wise. Plus all the other stuff you churn up.

Lone.Lycan's setup provides uber-cloak so you don't have to worry about anyone even finding it. I'm fine with spending 12 spaces on a colossal even if most of the artifacts don't give a bonus to the primary resource when it's not findable.

i consider Taltherian more important than Mylarai, and Mylarai more important than Kronyn.... (and kronyn is a very useful creature!!)
i recommend everyone to get all 3... especially if you don't think thrice before spending 10GP on an energy refill... (meaning, you wouldn't mind the 20GP for periodic race changes)

reasoning:
planet data optimizers drop from a "rare" mob and can be used on any planet type
toxic purifiers drop from a "uncommon" mob and can only be used on toxics
enumeration crystals are an extremely rare drop from lvl 5+ bases, and should only be used on 15x-19x planets
planet-transforming artifacts (melter, hydroshifter, crystalizer, irradiator, etc, etc) should only be used on a VM 15x/20x/15x planet (16x/20x/15x for irradiators, any/any/15x for phasic chain ionizers)

Since taltherian doesn't have fixer, yes, excavator and builder are my two common choices there (though if you've noticed i've started taking an anti-builder stance lately)...
and mylarai... well, i simply go fixer when i'm mylarai... i try to go fixer whenever possible these days to help the base, and try to minimize my time on non-fixer races

hehe.... i've caught myself on other occasions and corrected it.... totally didn't notice this time.... i was hooked on mmorpgs back in the early EQ1 days, so the term "mob" tends to slip from my tongue fairly often when referring to any killable npc in any game (and occasionally, non-killable quest-giving npcs)

after reading your and darth's reasoning, i will agree this is the most efficient way to defend a planet. but it iincludes quite a few mission related artifacts. what happens when you run out of metatuned jammers, ergosphere filters, etc... this is more so i know how to defend my planets once i've run out of those things.

after reading your and darth's reasoning, i will agree this is the most efficient way to defend a planet. but it iincludes quite a few mission related artifacts. what happens when you run out of metatuned jammers, ergosphere filters, etc... this is more so i know how to defend my planets once i've run out of those things.

the only two mission-related ones are the ergosphere (often found on lowbie planets... stupid lowbies) and metaTunes (will be difficult to find these... though not impossible)... oh, and the void barrier from Darkness Falls repeatable mission
...and yes, i also threw in the adumbrate from lvl 5 base crates... you're still heavily cloaked without them... the rest are npc drops or ct labs... and the magnetosphere from battle market

note: with the arrival of datastream couplers.... my list there now requires 56 legionmates to stay above max scan... of course adding additional one-space cloak modules is always a possibility too

it's been above 17k for a while now.... it was at 18016.7 before these datastream compilers were added
