When a player hacks you and they discover the location of one of your planets, does it tell you that you have been hacked and the hacker discovered one of your planets?
Thanks!

it does... just not which one. its more a mind job than anything else because its just one of many planets in your database. it could be yours, enemy, legion, or unoccupied. so losing one location doesn't mean you will lose a planet over it.... even though that is possible.

well for one thing if they got a good planet they wouldn't want to talk about it to risk u finding it 1st. If they got some barren rock, thats when they will try to bluff...

trying to totally bluff a critical when no critical was made is a new one... that would be hilarious.

i did see a guy freaking out because his firewall trap went off and he didn't see any RP loss. you DONT see a log for hack failures. hacking an empty database counts as both a success and failure at the same time. so i had to explain to him that he has nothing to worry about

I can say for certain that I have been critically hacked before (my wife did it to me just for fun before she stopped playing) and I did NOT get a notification in my ship log of the hack even though she did obtain the location of one of my planets. However, I did get notification when she successfully hacked my research points. So, since it has happened to me, it's entirely possible that someone did hack a planet from you without your knowledge.

I'm pretty sure you don't get a notification for critical hacks against you. I've never seen one and I've been hacked quite a bit. Critical fails of yours show up on the screen but not in your log and they don't have planet names. If you have no RP it still counts as a success against you if it was going to be one anyways, but you get no notification. You can only tell by your actions counter going down.

Other people in this thread have said that you do get a notification if someone hacks a planet location from you. I was simply giving an example of a situation where I know for certain that a critical hack took place but there wasn't a notification of the hack in the target's (me) ship log.

Could be that the notifer was implemented in-game after that point, when your wife found out where you were hoarding the Ding-Dongs at?
