Post subject:  Planet Question

I have several good planets that i'd like to keep,Though I've heard tons of tips on how to defend them,Cloak them and flux,Or brick them and guard. I have a few questions?
1. If i do cloak and Flux them,How high of a cloak should i have? And should i just go cloak or also add defense/attack?
2. If I do Brick them,How high should the def/att be?
3. Should I add Pop. Structures on planets too?

Only cloak if you have very high cloak-mods researched. The point of uber-cloaked planets is that with 18k cloak, they can't be scanned. Bricking planets means you won't get that much production on them, making these planets redundant. I'd say at least 2 defense modules, 1-2 attack modules, and 1 pop structure. With this set-up, I can put 1 or 2 +10's on my planets.

Bare in mind, that you should put 2 attack and 1-2 defense modules if your weapons are researched way beyond your shields.

1) if you cloak them, you need 18,500 cloak per planet to make them so no one else can find them. Any less than that and its not worth it.
2) No amount of defense will protect you... players always have a minimum of 10% invasion success... so, if youre invaded by a top 10 legion, more likely than not you are guarenteed to lose the planet. I personally keep maybe 7200-9600 defense on a planet after the legion bonus.
3) population structures are good for when you want to brick a planet and then flux it... i personally dont see a purpose to adding a population structure to a planet under massive size just for staying there. But, i'm not the best when it comes to utilizing population structures. So, im not sure if you should take my word on this one.

At cloak structures,I'm on Anti-Tachyon Satellites.
Shields are a little ahead of weapons(Obviation Barrier---Null Minefield)
And for Pop i've got Trans-Core Hubs
So the highest scan is 18k? I've heard it was over 20+?

unless some new modules have been released since lone lycan's last update... i think its still at 18.5. it may be 18.6, but at that point i think we're just splitting hairs.

Nope. I've failed on 4%and 1% yesterday and the day before respectively.

No, it will just stop the majority of players. I know Mojo311 has at least a dozen vault planets, and puts around 30k attack and defense on each

i could quite possibly be wrong... i just remember back in the days when paid planets wernt invincible, the top legions would scan them and then have everyone in their legion have a go at them... they may have had 20k passive defense, but i recall that if literally every member attempted an invasion, then it was a sure thing they would take it... not sure how that corresponds with the 1% and 4% thing.

essentially, youre safe from people with less than 10k scan. so, if it is scanned, then itll be a high rank taking it from you. while the 10k cloak is good, i would recommend getting some defense on there, just in case. at least then you will have a bit more time to try to brick it before its taken.

Is 10k Scan common among higher levels? Seems a bit high to me

i cant say for sure, because i cant find the thread about the maxed out ship, but i think 8500 scan is the 'normal' amount of scan players have without buffs. BUT players rarely scan for planets unbuffed.

9134 for non-explorers, unbuffed, with titanproxies can become 18538 if you switch to explorer and buff up properly

1) If there scan is higher the your planets cloak they still get lower odds of finding your planet , 17k cloak vs 18k scan give them about 1% chance. Cloak under 18.5k is still usefull.

2) Min invade is 1%

3) sounds about right.
