Like ratio wise? I have 13 attack and 12 defense, but when I hit someone who only has 1 attack and 2 defense, they do double the amount of damage I do. How??? |

Damage cap. You can only hurt someone up to half their deck-space or their rank + 19, whichever is higher. Under rank 100, it is recommended that you load up on guns and hull. I suggest having 1 defense module, and when you start to get Dark Ring Thrusters, then scrap the def for more weapons. When you hit rank 100, start getting more defense and guns. Hull should always have the max. of 5 modules on. From what I've seen, most people go for a 5:3 attack defense ratio. Mine is at 7:4 unbuffed, and 3:1 fully buffed. |

Put rank points into tactical officers and engineers for the first 20 levels or so. Having a lot of decks while you're under rank 40 will kill you. Research hull first and foremost. Rely on Dominion Cannon Mk 1's for your weapons. Don't bother with defenses until you get higher in rank. Wait until your research gets going, THEN all rank points should go into decks. Here's what I have. (I just reset) ![]() ![]() 2 deaths came from omicron mine traps. (I have a subspace seeker, just haven't bothered to go on a scan run yet) ![]() My recommendation for research if you're just starting out 1. Hull 2. Scanners 3. Planetary Bulidings Join a big legion that can give you some traps and Kurenite. |

This happened just after I posted, so I figured I'd use it to illustrate can happen if you research weapons and have lots of decks at a low level. His Heavy Frieght means I can do a lot more damage to him then he can to me. And even though he put 191,000 research points into weapons, they didn't do him much good against my damage cap. ![]() PS. Once your research get's higher, you should probably start putting rank points into decks to balance your ship. It all depends on how you want to play! |
