Did you hit an Abysmal Rift Trap? I've never actually seen the effect, but I know it makes planets invincible.

upon occupying a planet the following message occurred -
( insert planet name here) reports that a massive barrier emerged around the atmosphere, powered by the planet itself. The planet is now immune to all artifacts and abilities used by enemies.

Nah, Lycan says that Dan said abysmal rift is supposed to be an invincibility, not just immunity to artifacts and abilities.
Exo-Rift Trap maybe?
(Is it a 2-week effect?)
