basicly im still learning about this game but enjoying my time on here, just wondered how i am doing at my level. Level 69 Sillixx Explorer Materials 308/Hr Artifacts 522/Hr Research 407/Hr Size Class: Heavy Cruiser Space: 297 / 304 Attack: 455 Defense: 473 Scan: 67 Cloak: 130 Cargo: 135 / 230 Upkeep: 1.3M Battles 3088 (Veteran) Player Kills 173 Deaths from Players 88 Non-Player Kills 38 Planets Found 116 Planets Occupied 17 Planets Captured 5 Missions Completed 244 Scans Performed 189 Successful Hacks 178 Successful Raids 131 Weapons: 2x Dominion Cannon Mk2 -working on the last 2- 2x Heavy Disruptor Cannon Prototype Mech Defences Auto-Evasion node Force Shield Harmonic Resonator 2x Microwarp Nacelle Mk III T.O. Harmonic Pulser Thrust Stabilizer Hull Protean Armory -Working on getting the rest- Energy Surge Plexus Omicron Injector Devices AI Supercomputer CipherBot 2x Zolazin Jammer Stryll Hunt Sensor Right now working on Xeno-Diplomacy to help out with donating and upgrading the level 5 legion base, after that i was thinking of starting on Quantum Disassembly for the next weapons for ship and planet attack. also have +5 production for planets, just need to find better planets to shove them on since most of mine are moderately good. 19/22 Missions done so far, trying to slow level to get the rest of the badge gear before i do much else. Opinions so far? still a lowbie and learning as i go. |

I'd say stop getting the Dom II's. Save up for the Dom Mk. III's; you'll be thankful you did later on. Also, try research +6's, if you can. Don't research Sub-Quantum Logistics, it's 1.5m research total, and at a level 69 with your production, that will take you ages of worthless research. Try upgrading planets and getting a higher production/hr (mainly research and then mining- artifact won't be too handy at a lower level). Also, take off the Force Shield; that space will be better used for other modules. Try to make space for full hull (a 5-module set). Keeping 5 hulls online at all time will be very beneficial. |

Opinions so far? still a lowbie and learning as i go. Here is the dealio with the shipio. You don't want to waste the reds on the mark IIs. You should have just grabbed mark Is and then got the mark IIIs because the Mark IIs are not that useful. Next, stop with the base stuff. It doesn't matter how much a level 69 can contribute. Go for weapons and get them to ATLEAST singularity launchers. If possible get the Antiprotons. Drop the force shield and defenses and go for Hull/weapons. I would just go with BM50s at your rank to not use as much space. Also, I am guessing you put a few rank points in engineers which is why your space is so low. As a sillixx I would say you should be at around 400-450 space at your level. Also, get your +6 and then your +8s. |

just to give you a bit of varying advice. getting the DomCannon Mk II's is not going to be an issue if you slow rank to 100. i got my 4 Dom II's (skipped Dom I's altogether) around rank 58 (late Jan ??) and am still only rank 85. i've been working on my hacks and raids and am within 650 of the leaderboards for both. the Dom II's have been of great help in knocking over the occasional NPC. i do agree that attempting to contribute to the base at your level doesn't make much sense (unless you're one of the legion leaders). dumping shield for hull is also a priority. figure out what type of playing style you want - if you want to charge up in the ranks, reserving your red badges for Dom III's makes more sense. if you plan on staying below r100 for a few months, the Dom II's won't hurt you. |

i skipped the dom 1s by accident, didn't learn about badge stuff till about rank 45 so decided not to waste the badges i already had on the mk ones when i was only 5 ranks of the next. the base contributions is simply to get rid of the huge amount of EM i seem to get and since the legion only recently upgraded to level 5, i might as well assist where i can. it will also give me a bigger cut of the daily shipment in research points. i did notice with a shield equipped i took less damage and it helped while fighting the few elites iv had the pleasure of killing. ill finish the base research since it only got roughly 10k left and start on the weapons, the damage to space ratio on the dom 2s isnt that bad, i wont be rank 100 for at least 1 month. |

Common themes you should consider: MKII Dominions = Waste...you will blink, then be rank 100 wishing you had extra reds Level 69 contributing to a lvl 5 base? Valiant as it so seems, most legion leadership will tell you to work on your ship's strength and prowess first - to better help the legion Rank points go into decks, research energy like crazy. You can vary from this strategy if you like to PvP, but you still need decent cores, and the room to build them as well as guns and hull mods...you can save space by only carrying 1 def module. Early on (aside from energy), hull is a cheap and easy way to get ahead in PvP or anything else battle related. The NUMBER ONE thing you ALWAYS must work on - PLANETS...simple as that... |

Hmm, I would say that a legion which goes for % contribution all week long is not worth it. You might want to go with a legion that has even contribution. I would say that Chesterton Royal Academy or The Terranian Armada which are both rather good research based legions. Chesterton would give you a level 6 base output while TA gives you an extremely active comm and a level 5 base output. |
