You need 10 times your rank in energy, and to maintain a 4 xp/energy ratio. This is best done with around 30 times your rank in attack, Neural Interfaces and RSL Memory Implants.

At your rank, auto-ranking would be very difficult. Being in IoN helps with all the artifact pints your getting. If I had to, I'd recommend putting all rank points into energy until you have 11/12 times your rank in energy, then putting any rank points you get from Rescued Prisoners into Tactical Officers. The points you get from levelling should go into energy.

Research energy modules, guns and hull in that order.

being a human would also help as it gives you an extra 10% experience boost.

If you are going to change race to auto rank, go with Inergon. You will get more done per rank and achieve roughly the same thing.

Konqul may also be a good choice just to increase attack, I have no clue how much attack you need at such a low rank to effectively kill NPCs for the 4:1 ratio though so good luck!

I recommend not doing it at all, for right now. Even with the base payout from IoN (when it's set on equal) your ship will rapidly become a tin can by autoranking at low ranks. Be patient and do your research. Increase your artifact production. At such a low rank, you're going to get very few rescued prisoners to add to your energy and attack. Rank up points aren't sufficient to maintain an autorank for very long. If you were to autorank at low levels, you're going to rank yourself into NPCs that are progressively stronger while not having the ship tech to fight them. Just for example, ask anyone in the 350s about Crimson Flamehawks, then ask someone in the 600s. My advice is to max out your ship modules, THEN worry about working on energy/attack through rank points.

you forget he still has
Rank 65 Sha'din Infiltrator
Rank 125 Sha'din Ambusher

on his battletab for prisoners (low ranks get all the good NPCs).

I do agree that you shouldn't but mostly for the easy badges you can obtain at your rank. you can see you need a lot of them.

What about research? You will fall way behind on that.

Take it from one of the FIRST people to be able to autorank and still plays the game, forget about it for now.

If you just must try then your going to need:

Konqul Excavator
Small ship build
Max MK dominion cannons you can get
NO MINING PLANETS, only art and research (sell toxic purifiers when you have enough to build 16x toxics)
keep certain npc spawn missions open
scan of just over 50

lots of other things but you really need to start from scratch and REALLY plan out what your gonna do.

Because a few 16x Toxics should cover the cost of a smaller-ship build.

selling 16x toxics brings in a enough cash to pay for everything else. If you can keep your upkeep/colonization costs low then you wont need much cash.

Just use research and once you reach Research contracts you can sell that RP for cash. A really good legion is key though, no matter what.#

Oh and Blade Harvesters drop Toxic Purifiers which increase the mining on toxics by +2.
