Post subject:  What to research next?
I've decided to freeze rank when i get to rank 100 (ok maybe not quite slow rank but i will only hit bases and NPC's that are worth it) to stack up on shipbots and rank points
However I'm still thinking about what to put my research into
I do come from a legion thats gives out 20k at the moment due to the fact we are being targetted by top 20 legions however if that stops i will get about 40K

So what should i research?

EDIT: I'm doing dark energy cores right now

Wait until later to freeze rank. It isn't profitable yet.

when people make these threads they typically forget to add in a rather key bit of information.... What is it that you are interested in? attack PvP? hack PvP? missions? NPC? what??? Answer that qeustion and we will be better able to assisst you, otherwise people are just going to tell you to build an attack PvP ship regardless of what you want.

Freeze Ranking :
this is a rather touch and go subject for the forum members as there are very different opinions on the subject. If you have deffinative purpose behind freeze ranking aside from hoping for ship bots / prisoners etc. then it is something to consider. however if that is the only thing you are interested in getting wait until you have enough arti points to pull in your own artis before doing so. the tyhpical concensus is not to freeze rank before 5k / hr production in artifacts, whichever level that happens to be.

example of freeze ranking with a purpose :
At rank 340ish I decided to freeze rank again ( first time was at level 20 for blue badges, and "defense" of my planets ), the reason for the freeze rank was because I had just unlocked mylarai and my mining production was sorely lacking for my tech level, as I had not taken many mining planets. ** remmeber mining is not that important of a resource, but at lower levels... it pays the bills ** I froze my ranking for 4ish months, watched as TO carriers came and left my BT, didnt attack anything, hacked, purged hacked some more. 3.72k mining / hr later I found myself in a much more advantageous position.

As long as the purpose for the freeze rank is not to farm artifacts, then any level is a good level to do it at.

i would've made an exception for T.O. carriers ... just saying ;)

i am ranking a bunch faster than i am comfortable with at the moment, but i am aiming for the 1k disables medal, and also wanted 2 litheor transmutative buildings for my exotic and dyson. once i have the 1k out of the way, i will go back to a much slower pace until i have the black hat and marauder medals, with only exceptions for key npc's like the t.o. carriers and mylarai extractors.

i am still deciding whether or not to finish the zolazin chain to make the hacking easier during that slower period, and also maybe get the sab medal, or stay as an excavator to get the artis (4.2k at the moment but will have planetary buildings up to +12 researched in the next couple of months).

for the OP, the reason 100 is a nice number is that you will have access to the 4 dominion III cannons, and the planetary uplift missions. however, the point of getting the cannons is to pvp / npc which is the opposite of freezing.

hmmm ok so maybe i should unlock the mylarai race and then just slow rank for a bit
Also i just do what takes my fancy - NPC, PVP or Missions i just do what ever i feel like doing at that moment

to actually answer the OP's question, I'd get the next set of hulls, then singularities, then maybe hulls again or planet structures

I would say: Get nexus hulls done, move onto planet structures (get +8s), get Singularities, get Neutronium.

EDIT: Seeing that you don't have Planetary Shields yet, that would be a good choice to fit somewhere after +8s.

get your shields cloak and planetary structures up. that way you can have better defense cloak and get more res from your planets to atleast prepare for a freeze.
