Galaxy legion

As the captain of your own vessel, you undertake a journey spanning from missions to PvP. You will meet interesting people, form friendships and battle with bitter rivals on this action-packed adventure you have just embarked on.

PURPOSE OF GAME

Long ago, power and one’s personal growth was the main purpose of the game and becoming the strongest man or woman to defeat your rivals by growing your ship, conquering worlds, and laying waste to all.

However, so much has been added, that the "purpose" of this game is what you make of it. With a galactic trade center even a newer, lower rank can become one of the richest players with good marketing skills.

You can construct a legion for you and your friends building one the strongest legion bases and become the most well-known teams.

Galaxy Legion is always gaining new content and in this vast game your purpose is limitless.

GETTING STARTED

You start your journey out on your own - a small ship, with few crew and no planets under your control. The first thing you do is chose your race. Each race has their own unique abilities.
RACES
- Aerlen - 30% extra ship defense
- Inergon - 10% extra max energy
- Human - 10% extra to all experience gains
- Konqul - 20% extra ship attack
- Sillixx - 10% extra ship size
- Vygoid - 20% bonus to research
Next you choose your profession, another boost to your game play, which allows you to customize your ship to your game style.
PROFESSIONS - Merchant - 20% extra cargo space (Inergon, Sillixx, Human)
- Spy - 20% extra cloaking (Inergon, Konqul, Human, Vygoid)
- Physicist - 10% extra shielding (Aerlen, Inergon, Vygoid)
- Explorer - 10% extra scanning (Aerlen, Inergon, Sillixx, Human)
- Builder - 50% reduced upkeep (Inergon, Konqul, Sillixx, Vygoid)
- Fixer - 30% extra hull strength (Aerlen, Konqul, Sillixx)
- Biologist - 10% extra planet population (Aerlen, Inergon, Sillixx)
- Excavator - 10% extra artifact production (Aerlen, Konqul, Vygoid)
- Miner - 10% extra mineral production (Konqul, Human, Vygoid)
- Hacker - 20% extra hacking (Aerlen, Human, Vygoid)
- Raider - 20% extra raiding ( Konqul, Sillixx, Human)

Once you have done this, there will be a tutorial. This tutorial will explain key game l concepts and expand your knowledge on the game. During the tutorial you will be informed of the fallowing. From the top left going to the right.

Energy – (seen in yellow) This is what you use to do every almost every action in this game. It powers your ship. Everything from missions, player vs. player, sending a messages to someone, activating some artifacts, and scanning planets will require this energy. Your energy recharges slowly to start but you can raise it from the 20 per hour you have to a maximum of 120 energy per hour. With modules that you build your max energy larger or make energy refill faster.

Hull - (seen in red) this is how much damage your ship can take from player or non-player attacks. Some missions also damage your hull. Once your hull becomes ZERO you will no longer be able to do missions or attack or most actions in the game. Your disabled ship can be repaired but it will cost credits to do.

Shields - (seen in blue) this is what becomes damage before your hull does. It protects your ship. Shields are often much lower than hull, however, they recharge on their own for free.

Galaxy points - or GP for short. This is the number next to the blue G. you start with 10 free Galaxy points. This is used to buy very rare artifacts and technology for your ship as well as energy refills. It can be purchased with real cash, or given randomly from the daily reward you collect.

Rank - this is the current rank of your ship. Right under it is a marking of your rank. As you rank it it will change and you will unlock new symbols for it. Each time you level up you get 5 rank points to improve your ship. Your choices are final and cannot be changed, so having a plan helps or you'll find all your points in the wrong spots.
Rank point choices:
1) + 1 Deck (ship size and amount of space available for equitable modules)
2) +5 Cargos (storage space for unequipped modules, minerals, artifacts, and special items)
3) +2 Engineers (increased max energy)
4) +2 Tactical Officers (attack power)
5) +2 Helmsmen (defense)
6) +3 Scientists (increased research)

Experience -(upper right corner, fills with a green bar) like in all other rank bases games when the bar reaches its max you rank up. When ranking up, your shields, hull and energy are refilled to max. You will also gain five rank points. Rank points are obtained from ranking up and sometimes from artifacts. Each rank point can be spent to increase your ships stats. Decks, cargo, and all crew members. Experience is earned by performing missions, attacking, taking peoples planets, scanning successfully a planet and giving energy to a legion base. Ranking follows the following XP = (40 * Rank) + 20. So every time you rank you will need to gain 40 more experience than the last rank.

Credits - (Green numbers under experience bar) credits are used to buy new ship modules, mineral’s to build structures and pay the upkeep on your ship. You get credits by selling artifacts or by selling the minerals you gain from the planets you own.

Research – (purple numbers) this is the amount of points you have to use for research. The points will be used to unlock new theology for your ship and the planets you own.

Below this top section there are many tabs you can chose from. Each will open its own page, holding options.

NEWS – starting from the mid right. The first item you see is the "claim dally reward" button. Every 20 hours you can gain a reward for playing. From minerals, research, rank points to even galaxy points. It’s all there. Galaxy News- this gives you the current news of the galaxy. This will often have when the servers undergo maintenance, currant add-ons to the story line and when some new things are brought in to the game. The next is the legion announcement. For those in a legion this is a message set by the leaders for you to read. It’s only for the legion its self, not galaxy wide. Ships log. Under this there are several mini tabs for you to filter and see everything from planet updates, non-player enemy alerts and attacks on your ship.
SHIP - This bar is where you can add decks/cargo to your ship or crew members with rank points. Also you can build new weapons, shields, defensive hulls, energy improvements, cloaking devices, or scanning devices. To the left of the screen is also a short report of your ship showing how many decks, attack power, defense, cloaking, scanning, and cargo space. You can repair your ship on this screen.

The left side from top to bottom in the report has:

Decks- Amount of space you have to install ship modules

Attack- this is how much attack power your ship has. How hard you can hit things.

Defense – this number subtracts from the damage you take when being attacked

Scan- this number allows you to scan planets, and keeps others from hacking you. It also allows you to see what modules others have on their ship.

Cloak- with this stat you can hide your ship from your enemies. It also allows you to hack other players, gaining research or sometimes the location of one of their planets.

Cargo- your cargo can hold minerals, artifacts and ship modules. The more cargo the more you can store.

Upkeep- when you buy modules for your ship you will have to pay upkeep once a day to keep them going. This number is the amount that will be deducted from credits every day. If you can’t pay upkeep your modules will be damaged and in time will brake becoming useless.

Next is your race and job. This will show what is what you picked at the start of the game and the bonus you receive.

Repair ship- if your ship is damage or disabled you can use your credits to fix it. There is a 5 minute cool down on this.

Use an artifact- in this game you can gain artifacts that you can use to increase your ship. You can use them from this tab. I will explain artifacts more later on.

Settings- In this tab you can set the picture you display from your face book one to your race. You can also change and customize the look of your ship and the title as you unlock things later in the game.
PLANETS - This tab is will show you all the planets you have knowledge of. At top left there is button where you can scan for new planets. Top right will be a set of buttons where you can filter how you look at the list. You can see only your colonized planets, planets that you know that are legion owned, enemy owned plants and analyzed planets and recently scanned planets. When you click on a planet you can see the following stats - size, type, resources available, population attack/defense, and buildings currently on planet.

LEGION - This bar shows the legion you are currently in. when first clicking on it you will see. From the top left the name of your legion and its symbol. To the under that you will see, a box with the number of members the average rank and strength and the legion bonus all your planets will gain from being in this legion. Under that is. Leave legion (red tab). This lets you leave the legion. (Democracy) blue tab. Your legion can have trade battle and non-aggression pacts with other legions. This tab wills allow you to see who your legion is allied with. Under that is Legion Base tab. I will explain that later on. To the right of all this you will see names and faces of your legion mates. There rank , race and jobs will be listed. The tabs (in blue) listed at the top

the leader board- From this fab you can see the top legions and the top players.

Search legions- allow looking for and checking out other legions. ( If you’re not in a legion you can use this to find a legion that you like search the legions and click on one that looks nice. You can read a short description a leader has made. If this style legion there will be a button that says “request to join” you can only join one legion however you scan request to join any amount. )

View friends- all your friends that play this game You can see their levels the names , legions and what they have equipped on thier ships

Comm archive- This keeps a record or all messages posted in the legion chat. The legion chat is at the bottom of the screen at all time. ( this will keep log even if you are not online)
MISSIONS Tab- This bar is where a majority of your experience will be gained. Each mission has a certain cost in energy, a certain risk, a certain amount of experience that will be gained, and sometimes rewards. These rewards could be credits, items, or research. Some missions also have required items that are needed to perform the mission. And some missions also have required ship improvements or history in order to complete (i.e. kills 3 enemies, hack 50 ships, ship attack power of 100). Also as you complete more missions you can get TIER rewards. These rewards will things like add free modules to your ship or a planet mod.

BATTLE tab - This is the fun tab where you can attack other players. The tab will show you players closest to your level that your ship can see. If their cloaking is better than your scanning you won't see them. So if you want to not be attacked as much, increase your cloaking. It is pure math of offense vs defense (bigger ship size will take more damage with the damage cap). After reducing a person’s shields and hull to zero it opens up the ability to hack or raid them. When you attempt to hack a player it checks your scanning and cloaking vs. theirs. Your hack can be unsuccessful, successful and get research from them, successful and get nothing (their research was at zero), or have a critical hack and learn a random planet that they have scanned. Beware if their scanning/cloaking is way higher than yours, there can be a reverse hack where they can steal your planet locations. Raiding is very similar. When you successfully raid u can gain minerals or artifacts, but you can also be repelled and reverse raided. As your ship gets more powerful, or you hack, raid, kill more players it can also open new rewards. In this tab there are also non player enemys that you can hunt for rare artifacts and powerful ship /planet mods.

TRADE - This tab is where you can buy, sell, or trade minerals or artifacts. Also shows your current planetary output of minerals and artifacts from your planets. Your planets will mine minerals and find new artifact points every hour. Important thing to note on artifact points is that the more points you amass before using, the more powerful artifacts you can find. Also when selling minerals there will be a 20% tariff. There is also a tab for special items. These items are used for high level missions or rare modules for your ship. They are gained by various rare or risky missions or from mining. In this section there is also a special tab that list rare items often used for missions and finally at rank 50 the galactic trade center where you can trade with other players and make a fortune.

Artifacts- items gained from missions, npcs and artifact points produced by planets they do everything. Make your ship stronger, give u rank points, ternary bonuses and the list goes on. They are your best friend use them.

RESEARCH - This tab is where you will increase your technology so you can build better modules for your ship. At the top will show your current planetary output of research that will be gathered every hour. You can spread your research around to make a balanced character, or you can focus on 1 or 2 that will make you level faster, or your ship more powerful.
1- ADVANCED WEAPONS - lets you make more powerful weapons. Max of 8 built weapons on ship at a time.
2-ADVANCED POWER SYSTEMS - Lets you make Reactors and Relays. Reactors will make your max energy higher while Relays make your energy recharge faster. You can only have 3 reactors and 4 relays on ship. While relays make your energy recharge faster it also reduces your max energy so you will need both in order to level faster. Strategy tip - make sure you Unequipp your relays before leveling because when you level it will refill your energy bar to 100%.
3-SHIELD SYSTEMS - Build better shields. Max of 5 shields allowed on ship.
4-STEALTH SYSTEMS - Allows you to build cloaking devices. You can have max of 2 jammers and 2 cloaks.
5-ADVANCED ARMOR - Allows you to make better hulls. You can have up to 5 hull improvements on your ship.
6-DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS - Allows you to build better defensive systems to your ship. Defense makes it so you take less damage. You can have 4 thrusters and 4 dampeners on your ship.
7-ADVANCED SENSORS - Allows you to build better scanners. You can have up to 5 scanners on the ship at once.
8-PLANETARY CONSTRUCTION - Allows you to make better and more effective building structures on your planets.

9-advance logistics- Allows you to donate energy and materals to rank your legions base. It also allows you to build base modules for your legions base.

PLANETS -

First thing to start doing is scanning for planets. You'll need to colonize planets in order to get more minerals (money and parts for modules), artifacts (for temporary or permanent buffs), and research (to improve tech and be able to build better modules). You can get about 3 planets from your first scans. Choose your best one and colonize it. Unfortunately you could be unlucky and get some pretty crappy planets to choose from. Good news is you start off with 10 free Galaxy Points that can be used later on to abandon planets (5 GP per planet abandoned). My advice would be to focus on Research at first. A second option would be to have a friend (if they recommended the game) to share a decent planet for you to start with. Then I would focus my research on advanced scanners so you can build modules more powerful to scan for more planets.

Planets come in different sizes (bigger size=more buildings you can put on planet which will farm more resource)

Size of planets from largest to smallest:
0- Mega colossal ( can only be made with rare artifacts, not natural planet extremely rare to see. 1 - Colossal (only a few in the entire galaxy)
2 - Very Massive
3 - Massive
4 - Very Large
5 - Large
6 - Average
7 - Small
8 - Very Small
9 - Tiny
10 - Very Tiny

Planets also have different amounts of resource abundance (higher abundance = more resources gained). They can have MINING, ARTIFACTS, RESEARCH, or a combination of the 3.

Abundance from greatest to least:
1 - X Mega Rich (from 1x mega to 88x mega) - ***[top number of mega is subject to change higher as game progresses]
2 - Ultra Rich
3 - Extremely Rich
4 - Very Rich
5 - Rich
6 - Extremely Abundant
7 - Very Abundant
8 - Abundant
9 - Average
10 - Sparse
11 - Very Sparse
12 - Extremely Sparse
13 - None
Types of planets.

Barren- often low recourse not worth taking, mostly Mineral planets

volcanic- similar to barren but tend to have a greater amount of Mineral available sometimes worth taking.

Toxics- like volcanic they are good in Mineral points. Very large toxics are a great thing you have their essay to enrich with a npc drop arty. Toxics are the number one mining planet because of this.

Metallic- often a poor planet however some come in very massive size and can have mega rich resources. Mineral and research planet can be useful to have due to the fact it can be big rich and help in two areas or production.

Desert- come in all kinds of sizes up to very large, Deserts have resources spanning from spares to very rich in al resources but are mostly artifact and research planets. They can be a grate pick if you scan a good one.

Gas- there big from large to very massive there only used for research. Very massive very rich gasses are the best they come naturally and can give you grate production.

Exotic’s- a very rare planet. This plant type comes in all sizes and richness. That are often with more than one mega rich + stat and are almost always among the best planets.

Icy- a grate pick for artifact production sometimes have research as well, . Very large extremely rich are among the best for this planet.

Oceanic- this planet can come in very massive size and can have very rich artifact production as well as research. Its main focus seems to be artifacts. This is a grate planet group for size and richness

terra- this planet size is only very large at best, but its artifact richness is fair higher then oceanic. This planet is primary an artifact planet but also have strong research

Dysons- This is the ultimate planet you can scan. Many player have gone years without scanning one. There always colossal in size. And there richness is near limitless. One dysons planet can give the production of 10 other planets. They are the jewels of the galaxy.

The fallowing planets are not natural but are made my artifacts or by missions. However you can scan them. There richness’s can be anything. for farther info on the please visit the wiki link posted at he end of this post.

crystal, irradiated, sentient, aphotic, equmennopolis , Gaia, Demon and plasma.
Goal is to have the largest Planet with the best abundance. You can only colonize a certain number of planets. As you level up you can colonize more planets. And each time you colonize a planet the next planet will cost more to colonize. You gain a new planet slot every 4 ranks.

Now after you colonize a planet, nothing is gained until you build on it. You want to build what is best for the planet or what you need most to improve your character. You can always change it. Destroy old buildings and build new ones over and over as your needs change. Some artifacts can be used on planets to gain more productions gained, with rare artifacts toy can extract some planets artifacts to move to others. Allowing saving your artifacts and keeping your planets best set up for you.

Different types of buildings:
1 - Research (improves research)
2 - Mining (collect more minerals)
3 - Artifacts (collect more artifact points)
4 - Cloaking (makes it more difficult for other players to scan and find)
5 - Defense (when and if other people attack your planet and try to take it, this makes the population take less damage 6 - Attack (makes planet more powerful to repel attackers)
7 - Population (When being attacked population acts as shield/hull for planet - people have to be killed before someone can try and take the planet the Populations is like the HP of the planet. )

8- to take a planet a players attack stat will go against the combined attack and defense stat of your planet. The payer will have between 0-90% chances to take your planet. 90% is gained when they have 3x the attack then your planets atk/def stats.

Legion bases.

Legion bases are massive and cover a lot of info so I will only be giving a short summery. For the entire info place visited the wiki link posted at the end of the post.

Legion bases are massive space stations you and you legion mate construct. Every legion base can produce artifact, mineral and research points for all legion mates to collect. The amount you gain and with ones you get is decided by the legion and different for each legion. You can also as a legion battle other peoples legion base and if you’re able to destroy it you will be rewarded greatly. Your legion base can also be destroyed. If it is you will lose a portion of your production you gain from it.

Battle market- in the battle tab there’s battle market, where you can trade the badges you eared in for cool items. Badges Red- earned when killing a player 40% or more than your rank. 1 badges per enemy player every 12 hours. yellow- eared for raiding a player 40% or more than your rank. 1 badges per enemy player every 12 hours. Blue- earned for hacking a player 40% or more than your rank. 1 badges per enemy player every 12 hours. Green- earned when you take a planet from another player. You can’t earn a green badge off a planet that you have gotten a badge from in the same week. Silver- earned when killing an enemy’s legion base. Number of badges depends on what rank the base is and what your ranking on the base was. Dark badges- earned when killing the dark assassin npc. You will gain 1 dark badge.

This is the Chesterton guide to the galaxy. It is just a game guide for beginners. There is much info not covered. For all the info and things like unlock able races, ship titles and much more please visit the wiki link that fallows. Thank you.

A special thanks to Annabells,Chloron , thonderbolta and Aggross.

The old Game guide is Pre legion system pre base prehistoric. So I updated it. I hope Dan or Maud makes this a stick so new players can have a quick read like we all did.

Rifts are cash planets that cant be scanned and you need to do 2 cash missions to get to. To not over do it I thought them best to stay n the wiki. by the time you have that mission unlocked I think the player would have used the wiki. rifts are not exactly a beginner item. Also Wil encourage them to check out the wiki. ;)

My fluency in the Ponese language makes the "misspellings" easier on the eyes than that god awful puke green font color...

What? I was fully expecting to see that I must carry a towel at all times with me and to never listen to Vogon poetry. I'm disappointed. You also need to mention the number 42 at least 42 times for it to have any validity.

Other than that, tis a good guide, spelling mistakes aside.

You can construct a legion for you and your friends building one the strongest legion bases and become the most well-known teams.

Galaxy Legion is always gaining new content (you're kidding, right?) and in this vast game your purpose is limitless.

Cleaned that much up. Guide looks solid, if a little rough. If someone else can continue with this, the guide is very long. Great work, Pony.

It might help to bold or color subtitles and definition words. It would help with contrast and finding something quickly.

I am fixing both these issues for MyLilPony when I have the time, any other suggestions for a beginner's guide?
