On the wiki it says that when you get the arty to unlock the race it allows you to choose the race when you change your race. Does one need to buy a race change or does the arty change the race too? |

The arti only unlocks the race. You still need to use a race change arti or pay the GP to actually change to the new race. |

You have to buy a race change or use one of the free ones. The race unlock arti only adds that race to the list you can choose from. It doesn't change your race for you. |

also other people on forums have said the new years day daily reward is a artifact that lets you change race and profession. this means the daily reward was claimed while it was new years day. |

Sphere of the New Era : The Sphere Symbolizes a new era for it's recipient. Allows you to Change your Race and Profession when used. They were named differently, just had the same effect. |
