Simple question, what is the importance of a storage planet?

When you get lots of high producing planets your arti/mining/res can cap very quickly. Say you had 2k arti per hour but 10k storage. Unless your willing to get up and collect evey 5 hours your losing out on arti points. But if you get 5 artifact storage towers and put them on a planet your storage will increase to 30k. therefore you would be able to go 15 hours between collections if nessesary meaning your unlikely to lose possible production
