I just got my first datacube and am wondering if there is a max before I go wasting it on my best planet. Also, is there a max for the Erudition ability? If not, then I can get everything from my Erudition ability (when I have it) so I don't really need the datacubes right? Should I try to sell the datacube?

I looked through some of the past threads and didn't really figure these questions out. I want to be pretty sure before I go using it since I can only get 6.

The racial ability caps at 15x. Datacubes have an upper limit of 88x (highest possible now).

Best option: Either use it on a dyson/rift (If you ever get any) or on a 17x plasma (15x using kronyn, +2 from plasimfying a gas.)

have to disagree there. your rift should have the best artifacts for producing artifacts. hold the res

youd get alot more of a jump on a dedicated res planet, but i can see not using it there as it isnt invincible.
chances are youd actually be better off using it on your mission exotic if you are worried about them being stolen

Yes. You can get a 26x Research Mission Exotic if you're patient. If you're REALLY patient (or have the $$$) you can have a 34x Research Mission Dyson.

If you're a little less worried about stealing, you can have a 28x Research Plasma, which was my choice. I like to save mission planets for Arti production.

How to make a 28x Plasma:
Very Massive Gas + lots of Planet Data Optimizers or the Kronyn Erudition ability to 15x
5 Trellith Resequencers to 20x
Phasic Chain Ionizer to 22x
Kronyn Datacube to 28x

Some people question the wisdom of using the Trellith Resequencers for anything but artifact. Personally, I feel that since you only get 10 of them, they're better used on mining or research. Enumeration Crystals are theoretically infinitely available.

how much would that colossal 28x plasma sell for?

THAT one's not for sale, and I'm not sure what one would cost you.

haha fair enough, i've got a vm 15x gas i can do anyway, once i get the resequencers that is. also have a colossal 15x plasma , which i guess is staying at 15x instead of 17x from datacubes lol

scientists are also infinitely available, but they arent so darn rare.
