how much scan is required to find each NPC? i have found akkiren 7 times, but that is the ONLY elite i find, whereas my coleader had already found the dark ring 3 times when he was my level. How much scan is required to find each NPC? i would really appreciate a list that goes
NPC name - X amount of cloak

Max scan you should need for any and all NPC's in the game is 200 I do believe. I think all NPC elites that have cloak have 200 cloak.

ya the Dark ring was one of the more rare NPC's. It takes a while to get one or just a lot of luck.

dark rings have 200 cloak. Dark mega complexes have 300 cloak. This is the highest amount of cloak i've seen for any mob on the wikki.

In other words, start complaining more if you want more elites lol.
300 is the most cloak that any NPC has I believe. The wiki is only as good as the info put into it, so you can't always trust it. Kaos, one of the highest ranked people in the game, has previously said the Dark MegaComplex has the most cloak he knows of. Since he's so high in level, i'm inclined to believe him.
Dan has said new elite NPC's for the 300+ level range will be added in the next week or two though, so they might have more than 300.

Scan definitely makes a difference in what NPC's you find. I didn't find any Scruuge whilst I had no cloaks equipped, but I found one within two hours or equipping a cloak, for example.
Still, some of the bosses are uber-rare, so even if you have enormous scan levels, they can still be rarer than Quasi-Expanders. You can probably survive without any cloak modules until you're around rank 150 or more, but after that it might start hurting you a bit.

That doesn't prove anything. It seems likely that scan only matters for finding NPCs with cloak.

I didn't even know you need scan to find any of them I thought it was just a random find.

It is. So far 300 scan is about all you need to find cloaked NPCs, and I believe they're all bosses that have it.

I myself just found a Sketh, Stryll Predator, while I was only at 56 Scan. Not sure if he's just not cloaked or if they really are random.

If you look at the status page of the mob, below it's attack and defense stats, it will list any cloak it has. If it has cloak, you have to have that much scan minimum to be able to see the mob. Extra scan does not increase your chances of finding the mob.

Think of it this way: As long as you have more scan than its cloak, it is added to your possibilities of NPCs found. Other than that, you have a random chance to find any NPC as long as you are in its level range.

If you don't have a scan higher than the NPCs cloak, you wont see them at all. Ever. At least this is my understanding. With the new release of high level NPCs, the highest cloak I've seen a NPC with is 500, so if you have 500 cloak, you'd theoretically be able to find any NPC. Have less than 500 scan? You'll only see those NPCs if they are shared.
