Aside from just building the structure?
Does race/profession or anything else come into play?

Don't really understand the question. But some races do have bonus to production (but your planet MUST produce something for this bonus to be taken into account -
Example (for full list, do check the guide in Beginners Hub ->http://galaxylegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=106)
miner -10% mining, vygoid -> 20% research

EDIT: Structures on allies planet do not count, only yours. And also Resources abundance/colony development (new, emerging.) also affect production

IF you build a building for SOMEONE ELSE... the bonus's go off of THEIR race/class... it doesn't mean that because i have a race/class bonus and i build on someone else's planet that because i built it THEY will get the bonus too.. doesn't work that way
