Question regarding moons and planet size

Ok, so large moons give you 20% more space, right?
So you get them on a massive planet and the planet goes from 63 to 76 space (adds 13 space)
What happens if you use a QSE on the planet? Will you have 83 spaces (the 20%) or just 82? (very massive is 69 space plus the 13 when you first got the moons?)
The reason I ask is because someone mentioned having to use the QSE before the transfuser while hoping to get moons for this very reason. Does this make any sense?

The 20% is not static at the time the Large Moons are obtained, it scales with the size of the planet
