Turns out the Physics Lab upgrades with TO Resistor Overcharges like regular shield modules boosting the shield to 50000 potentially and the upkeep up to as much as 8.4B/day....

That would be an obvious no imo, since the basic hull mods cannot be upgraded.

The Physics Lab is Shield, so falls under the T.O. Resistor Overcharge's Perimeters, that's how it was upgraded. :)

Was Metallurgy II reward just another metallurgy shop? or was it metallurgy mk.II with different stats?

Also, this might answer your issues and support thread in a way, cuz if it's called metallurgy shop mk.II, then that might be why it isn't counting towards the multiplicative bonus that the ability has.

Doesn't appear to have any ability associated with it.

Might be good for a purely research base but that's about it.

We just installed the Academy and its not workin, we still have 10 training slots.

Btw Cosa Nostras current Base Upkeep is 61.2B / Day, anyone close to it?

Does it say that more can be unlocked? It's not really surprising to me that there is a module that adds to production. There are still 3 undiscovered ones. I would venture to guess that perhaps the Alumni Workshop gives +40 to mining? It's obtain-ability is more demanding than the galactic study archives just as in comparison mylarai(mining) is more demanding than kronyn(research). I'd also venture to say that the pedagogue hab adds +40 artifact. It's obtain-ability is more demanding than the Alumni workshop just as taltherian(artifact) is more demanding than Mylarai(mining). Not really sure what kind of prediction can be made for the Hall of Discpline, but just a prediction for those two anyway. Guess we'll see...

just a note to use caution to avoid selling a training mod that you want to keep.

someone had claimed a physics lab I while we were reserving the base space for the metallurgy training. when i sold the lab, it could not be claimed again from the training tab. we still have 15 regular shield spots to hit with t.o. resistor overcharges so we did not want to waste them on the training mod for now.

the physics lab II is still in the training section greyed out. so ... when we unlock that ... i am curious as to whether we will cap out at 3 physics labs instead of 4 ... once we have the base space for all of them anyway ...

no rush. the hull module is the priority for the space and i don't want a member to claim the shield mod again.

The shield can be upgraded, and more efficient than hull, right ?

Hull is more efficient than shields as it can be repaired multiple times during a base battle.

Shields only regenerate at a rate of 2% every 2 mins.
