We have 3 trainees now. The first two remain active. Hopefully the newest is as well. Maybe we'll see some base modules unlock soon.

UPDATE:

We now have had 5 trainees with 4 current. We kicked one earlier due to inactivity/quitting.

Combat drill simulator: base space 2, limit 4. Attack +4000. That's at 50 players disabled, next one becomes available at 100.

What I really like is that even if you have a lower level base, it is worth uninstalling researchable hull for this since Syncopated Base Plating is only Hull: 30,000; upkeep is a little more but so what, credits don't mean anything.

At higher level, you may have free space to fill anyway.

I guess that leads me to a question lazydog. Can you install 4 level 1 shops on your base right away?

I don't think so. We unlocked the Academy today. It automatically installed when we claimed it and can't find it anywhere on the build list.
Because of this, we have no description to tell us what it does. All it says in the effects is "Trainingslots: 3". Tried bumping our Max Trainees to more than 10 and it wouldn't let us, so it isn't that. We're hoping maybe it allows 3 training slots even if the legion is full? Anyway, next upgrade requirements are:

Academic Studies II

Graduated (Rank 50): 5
Ranks Gained: 400
Attendance (Days): 20
Base Level: 4
Special Space Available: 2

A recap on the Combat Drill Simulator.
Attendance: 10
Players Disabled: 50
Base level: 5
Base Space Available: 2
Base Limit: 4
Effect: Attack 4000
Unlocked Base Ability: Boosts base attack by 4% for each active, loyal trainee and graduate in your legion multiplied by the number of Combat Drill Simulators installed on the base. Cost 4 AP to use. No info on duration (may assume 4 hours).
Next Tier, Combat Simulation II: Players Disabled 100
Upkeep: 2.8B /day

When I Claimed the reward, it was auto installed (why you have to have the available space).

As an observation, this seems very powerful to me. Say you have a total of 10 active trainees/graduates in your legion and 4 simulators...10X4X4=160% bonus to attack plus battle stations?! WOW! This will make base combat a tad bit more interesting.

No, Metallurgy Training II has to be unlocked for the second, Metallurgy Training III for the third and so on!

eh, totally missed that on my first post.. it does have an ability:

Combat drill simulator base ability says it adds a % attack, but activated it states a defense increase. The duration is 4 hours.

Piloting Simulator (4000 Defense)

Boosts base defense by 2% for each active, loyal trainee and graduate in your legion, multiplied by the number of Piloting Simulators installed on the base.
Costs: 4 Ability Points
