Scanners eventually discover the potential location of the Oruas Eye: an impenetrable sphere of considerable size and mass. Engineers are gathering data to determine any weaknesses to the structure, in an effort to gain access to the interior. Chapter 5: Sphere of InfluenceIn one of the systems we routinely survey, we picked up a tiny sub-tachyonic 'echo' amongst the surrounding quantum noise. After heavy sensor sweeps of the area, we located a heavily cloaked moon-sized spherical structure of unknown composition. Cost Per Round: 400 Energy + 1 Hull Test Data 20 Rounds, daily mission, can be completed 11 times. Reward: 400 experience + 1 Hull Adaptive Ray You must use your new 'Hull Test Sample' ability on enemy players.

Abilities Tab: Sub-Tachyonic Detector Hull Test Sample Performs a Hull Test on an enemy ship. Can only use if you have disabled this target in the last 5 minutes, but no more than 4 times in the last 24 hours. Cool down: 2 minutes Cost to use: 50 energy Effect on enemy ship: Hull Tested : Tested +1 (4 mins left) Hull Test Data Data gathered after performing test on an enemy hull. Scrap Value: 5000 - 20000 credits

Hull Adaptive Ray Hull Adaptive Ray [Weapon - Size:22, Attack:70, Hull:50 ] If this ray is already installed, this will instead upgrade its stats by 30% up to 300%. When fully upgraded, it provides a 2% attack bonus against enemy players. Scrap Value: 7-13 CTP

Went through the briefing and checked that I have the Hull Test Sample ability active on my ship. But don't see any Use Ability button under Actions tab of a player I disabled. How can I run the hull test on the disabled ship?
I still have the Sub-Tachyonic Detector ability active. Not sure if it's causing any conflict.

It might be similar to the issue on the last daily, in which acquiring the ability doesn't trigger a tab to appear for those who haven't already unlocked a pre-existing ability related to that 'section' of the game (ie planets, or in this case the BT). In any event, have sent a help ticket off to Dan.

I still have the Sub-Tachyonic Detector ability active. Not sure if it's causing any conflict. you should see it under the player abilityes but it proberly have the same problems as the other abilityes in the chain = only tempeary for x hours after you read the mission briefing and sometimes disapear when you need it

He doesn't see the ability tab at all on an enemy ship. I don't think there is one on the BT unless you have Tactical Remodulation, Mind Influence, and/or NFX-2 already available (maybe others I'm forgetting). Ships look like this, even when the ability is visible from your ship tab:

I know, same problem as all the other abilityes in the chain... one of the planet abilityes had the same problems where players that hadnt unlocked abilityes for planets couldnt use it, as I remember it (combined with that they are tempoary, so sometimes disapear and you cant get them back until the mission timer resets)

Yep, you're going to trip a lot of halcs. Since everyone not setting the trap will be disabled very fast, you're gonna be left with a BT full of people online or halced.

im currently up to 30 hull test myself, its not too bad out there, looks to be slightly morelively but it could just be my luck

The mission has a requirement of 50 PvP kills before you can start it.
