 2015 Summer Seasonal Event 1: The Elios

So, this seasonal.

Two good aspects for me, more EM and the rares.

Other than that, No elite sucks big time, I swear Dan has forgotten to release it.

Doubt I will buy any of the GP mod's due to being excluded from half of the NPCing aspect of this seasonal.

My take on the seasonal so far:

Pros:
Bonus EM
Planet arti drops are good

Cons:
Doesn't appear to be any new npcs
No upgraded module drops
The upgraded modules for extra energy recharge are expensive for what they offer... I may actually skip buying these

seriously ?

you are going from 180 energy per hour to 200 energy per hour ... a gain of 11.1% energy. that's not nothin.

when i picked up the elios collectors last year, i thought i was buying them 'just in case'.

turned out i used them often, especially when i got legion missions back to back with a daily.

True, but some people don't like to rank on missions unless they are essential or until they've reached certain rank milestones.

There are several missions I'm avoiding until rank 1201, in order to maximize the number of Stryll Seekers I harvest; I probably won't do Klorvis until rank 2201 (and unless the XP is nerfed, I may never do it at all).

Seems pretty pointless to me. In the event that I run out of energy due to a high energy legion mission such as mawks, I have stockpiles of energy fills from the daily rewards (having said that I did the morphogenic enhancer task yesterday without a refill). Surely somewhere around rank 1000-1200 most people are capable of running their ships with little recharge?

At higher ranks, I think it's less about the energy than the tick. Without a quick charge, I would be late to a lot of Fab parties. Don't know how much passive cloak I gain per week due to sneaking in on Fab alerts, but the difference (coming in 4th or 5th, or to a disabled Fab) is noticeable when relays are off.

That's true but I was responding to the point about how good an extra 11% energy charge was.

Yeah, and agreed. 200 per hour is huge at lower ranks... when you've got an energy bar in the tens of thousands, it becomes less and less meaningful (though the tick tock is likely more valuable at that point, so you can get on more Fabs, Kelethors, etc.)...

Takes me 1 month 2 weeks to recharge my energy bar, 20/hour extra is peanuts to ME that is.

As for PMing Dan about possibly forgetting to release the NPC or something, I'm actually happy to sit this seasonal out, Other than the extra EM Its not that great.

im with pongo..i have like 58 tries and so many e cubes...aside from being over 19-1 e ratio anyways...plys hundreds of sacs...i have to FIND creative ways to lose energy

The extra 20 energy per hour, wouldn't even fill up my energy bar over an entire year.

Nothing new about the seasonal at all other than the GP mods and one medal, Dan you outdid yourself this year.
