2015 Halloween Event: The Hallows Bane

General InformationDuring select galactic cycles, members of the notorious Hallows Bane come out of hiding, terrorizing unsuspecting victims. Ships are asked to find them, and put an end to their activities. During the Hallows Bane Event, the following temporary effects apply to the entire Galaxy: -Invasions and colonizations will cost 20% less in credits. -Successful invasions will sometimes trigger the 'Bane Coercion' event on the planet. -Players of Rank 200+ will sometimes find 'Psyshade Inducer' artifacts during planetary scans. --------------------------------------------------MedalsEvil Transformation Disable 4 Bane Psyshades without using any artifacts or effects on them. Medal Points: 10 -----------Coveted Takeover During the Hallows Bane event, invade 8 planets that have been scanned by no greater than 2 other ships. Medal Points: 15

MissionThe Hallows Bane A group of %Race extremists have defected and joined forces with the Hallows Bane. We believe the Bane may be using some kind of device to influence various factions within the government. Cost: 90 energy, 1 Spy Uplink Chassis Rewards: 120 experience, 1 Bane Psybeacon Risks: Chance of a Psybeacon controlling your ship for 30 minutes (lowering attack against non-player enemies by 40%) Bane Psybeacon [ Limited Item - Halloween ] [ Planet Structure - Size:1, Mining:1, Artifact:1, Research:2 ] Can only be built on planets attacked in the last 48 hours. Can be upgraded. Limit 1. Mark II: Size:1, Mining:1, Artifact:2, Research:2, +1000 invasion defense Cost to Mark II: Planet must be calm for 1 week + 4 Green Badges Mark III: Size:1, Mining:3, Artifact:2, Research:3, +1000 invasion defense Cost to Mark III: Planet must be calm for 2 week + 4 Green Badges Mark IV: Size:1, Mining:3, Artifact:3, Research:3, +3000 invasion defense Cost to Mark IV: Planet must be calm for 1 month + 10 Green Badges Scrap Value: 1-2 CTP --------------------------------------------------USTBane Horror Releases extreme terror against the planets that your ship invades. Increases your attack during invasions by 8% for 4 hours. Cost: 60 CTP --------------------------------------------------Planet EffectBane Coercion %Planet_Name reports that the captured populace is under the terrifying fear of the Bane threat. Productivity has increased, and the planet will produce 10% more resources for 1 week. --------------------------------------------------ScanningPsyshade Inducer [ Limited Item - Halloween ] Transforms an undamaged, standard Bane enemy into a Bane Psyshade. Cost: 58 GP -----------Hallows Bane Turret IV Upgrade [ Limited Item - Halloween ] Upgrades a Hallows Bane Turret III on your base to a Hallows Bane Turret IV, increasing its attack bonus to 16%. Cost: 52 GP -----------Bane Generator V [ Limited Item - Halloween ] [ Planet Structure - Size:2, Mining:6, Artifact:3, Attack:3000 ] Installs a Bane Generator V on your planet. Limit 1 per planet. Enemy Type Matched Abilities None Attack 183190 Defense - Cloak 2000 Reward: 20 exp + Bane Emission Corruptor [ Limited Item - Halloween ] Upgrades 1 Bane Emitter on your ship (at random) to a more powerful version of its next type. Each emitter can only be upgraded once in this way. Scrap: 6000 - 24000 credits

Bane Emission Corruptor dropped from Psyshade, upgrades a random bane emitter on your ship to the NEXT more powerful one. Psyshade Inducer upgrades an undamaged standard bane foe to a Psyshade, (note psyshades have very high stats at rank 500 the one I faced has 126 K hull (matched rank) all debuffs can be used on it, and mine had 20K attack and 16K defense, attack with care

really curious to know if the bane transmitter will upgrade past what the current top version is

however you cannot / it will not upgrade beyond this point.
so whatever horror transforms into / if it will at all, would be the highest emitter version.

I have the dread charged and its 195 attack when upgraded. can only be upgraded once, which is something I find odd since it states 30%, rather than a simple fully upgraded.

So it appears that the upgraded version not only converts it to the next higher grade but gives it 30% more attack than the naturally dropping version as well. Naturally dropping Horror-Charged emitters have a base 120 attack and 30% of that is 36 which make the 156. I guess if there are naturally dropping dread-charged emitters, they would start at a base of 150 attack. 30% of that is 45 which added accounts for the 195. The question is, if there are naturally dropping dread-charged emitter, what rank do you have to be to see the NPC that drops them? Interesting...

Interesting... dont know for sure, but Horror-Charged emitters = rank 1900+ so my bedst guess would be somewere betwen 2500+ and 3500+ before you get access to a NPC that drops them but so far, the players who might have acces to them I have seen are only running Horrorcharged Bane Emitter x4

Just confirmed. you CAN use the megaweapon on psyshades and get medal progress. and 0702, would you mind dragging the image enclosed in the Img brackets here so I can add to wiki please?
