I'm told I'll need it in higher ranks but what exactly is it good for? |

There are missions that use it to create things, or to allow you to build special structures. |

Exotic Matter is used for a bunch of missions that will allow blueprints for an Exotic Cannon, Exotic Barrier and Exotic Lab (best of the 3). Additionally, you can also use it to get a mission that will allow you to 'flush' your NPC list. |

you will aslo get a mission (stalar cartography) wich gives star chart purgers |

Once the stuff accumulates into the billions it should collapse under it's own mass and form a new exotic planet for us. Would be the best use for it. :p |

there is also a mission that gives you a temporal flux that lets you flux a world that has not been attacked in 7 days. |
