 What role does a planet's population play?
I.E.: Why should I build habitats on them rather than purely research and mines? |

They act as the HP of the planet when the planet is under attack. Their role is to get nuked.

population acts like shields for you planet. your population must be below 10 before your planet can be invaded...if you dont do something to defend your planet it will be a push over to invade
