do you loose your contribution to the legion base when you switch legions??? will it pick up from where you left it, if were to leave and return later??

If you leave a legion the base still records what contributions you had made, presumably if you return you will continue to get a portion of the bases output.

Yes, the base remembers your contributions, even if you don't come back to the legion. Once on the contribution list, you will be there until the base no longer exists.

Even stupider question.... what happens if you change your name. Do you start contributing under a different name of does that all change as well.??????

Everything gets changed. Your name on the contributors list, your name on other people's Ship log etc. Everything.
