Okay, I started just like everyone else, and colonized the first Tiny Barren I found. Then started looking around the Wiki and Forums...

Now, I have 1 cruddy planet and 4 "so-so" planets, I just reached Rank 20, and my Protectiion is OFF. For some Defense, I added some Habitation Modules where I could, and put 2 Minefields and 2 Bunders on each planet, and I joined a Legion. Now, they all are at 68 Attack/68 Defense.

1 - Is this enough (for now) ?
2 - Should I overprotect better producers ?
3 - How can I Cloak my planets ?
4 - What else will help me ?

Please answer, I can't find enough about this, and I'm sure other noobs want to know.

i would say, for your level and your "so-so"'s, max out resrouce buildings, those low level defence buildings are worthless are your level, and waste of space on just so-so planets, when you start to get large and rich or better/bigger, then its more worth to put defences on the planets, but at your level, max out your resources the best you can and only then add stuff like defence and population.

Join some legion that accepts newcomers, they might even share better ones with you.

Basically this. Defenses at you level are worthless. You won't get cloaking structures until you've researched Sensor Jamming. Just join a nice Legion and then cross your fingers for now.

Back on topic:


1 - for your rank, yes it's about right. However, if someone even rank 50 scans one of your planets and wants it, they'll take it. easy. nothing you can do about that.

2 - at the moment, the best thing to do is to have 1 or two attack and defence structures to deter people at your rank, max out production. With the tiny barren, Max production, 0 attack/defence. Hope someone takes it.

3 - you need to research stealth systems, then EM absorbent materials, then sensor jamming to start to get cloak structures.

4 - carry on researching weapons and shields. They'll give you new structures which give more attack/defence for the same space.

Hahahaha, I couldn't help but notice that too. The only two players that consistently use different colored font are at odds with each other.
