So I've finished getting level 6 buildings are am focusing on getting planetary shields. Afterwards what should I research? Here is what is next for me to research on each research tree.

Weapons: Antimatter Streams
Energy: Isomorphic Entanglement
Shields: Stasis Fields (for planetary shields) currently researching
Cloaking: Quantum Jamming (I do fine with hacking and I am barely hacked because of mission modules)
Hull: Neutronium Armor
Defences: Quantum Overlays
Sensors: Sub-Dimensional Sensors (barely scan anymore, I just buy planets)
Planetary Buildings: Astro Binding
Legion Base: Sub-Quantum Logistics

I'm rank 145 if that gives some clarity.
I also get 1518 research per hour.
1121 Minerals per hour.
450 artifacts per hour.

i also suggest +8 buildings, i spent forever , i only did planet research from +5's straight through to +8's and the jump from the 6 to 8 is a real boost to planets

I think energy first... it is only one tier as it will be finished quickly, and it will allow you to gain energy quicker

I dont get why people dont know why cloak is good, Research cloak for like 2 tiers just to make sure you keep up with your rank. Energy then Buildings. Cloak First.

Cloak is garbage for 2 reasons:
(1) The Planetary Cloaking Structures are crap and completely worthless. Just ask StormSquall about his Irradiated planet I stole.

(2) The more cloak you have on your ship, the more scan needed to see it on the BT. Who might I ask has more scan? Mainly ships that can turn yours into Cream of Mushroom soup.

I only use Tier Rewards (not much choice since they are auto installed and can't be removed) and NPC/Mission rewards. NO researched cloak at all on my ship. I can still hack 60-80% of my BT at any given time and I only get disabled MAYBE once a day (by ships 200-300 ranks over me). You don't want to keep even with your rank. You want to put more muscle into your ships in the form of weapons, hull and defense. People your own rank range can SEE you, but they can't KILL you. Why cloak up so much that the only people that CAN see you, will kill you (easily) leaving you little opportunity to kill them back?

Recommendation: Ignore cloaking research until late in the game (or until Dan makes all the planet structures Size 2) and focus on Weapons, Energy, Hull, Defense and Planets. Rotate through those doing an entire set at one time. Throw in shields occasionally and do a whole set to upgrade the defenses on your planets. Skip upgrading from +5 to +6 structures and just go straight to +8's. When you research Energy, do all 4 cores and the following relay. Upgrade your cores Mk4 to Mk4 and upgrade the relays at the same time. Upgrade your Weapons, Hull and Defense the same way. Mk3 to Mk3. During this time, save your shipbots and rank points until you are ready to upgrade, then only use enough to add the decks you need to fit everything you are changing/adding. No sense adding Decks to increase your own Damage Cap until you need the decks. DO NOT put rank points into crew/cargo until you are nearing the final stages of ship tech. By the time you get there, you should be drawing enough artifact points to supply plenty of cargo (MSPs and Tessies) and Androids (Helmsman and Scientist).

at your rank i suggest getting the antimatter cannons so you will have slightly above average weapons and also the isamorphic repeaters are essential then the level 8 buildings followed by the next scanners just in case you need a few planets in a pinch you can get it
450 artifacts per hour.

I agree completely. Cloak is useless. The only cloak I actually have is the zolazin jammers, kryon engines and a couple other stuff that gives miniscule amounts of cloak.

I never saw mention of play style? Are you PvPing? Npcing? Missions? A mix?

Im also 145 and PvP so I prioritized hull. But like everyone who grows their ship at a speed that outpaces the damage cap, defense is always important. That, not cloak, needs to keep up with your rank.

Good luck!

I focus mostly on missions. I use what energy I have left to hack someone, and when I have the better modules disable them.

Cloak isn't useless.

1) Cloak isn't meant to make your planets invincible, don't stack tons of it, it's pointless. Build one decent cloak on your planet and the rest as per your usual setup. This weeds out a lot of potential scanners. Let's face it, lower levels players scan a lot more and more often than higher levels and there is little you can do against the higher levels. However, without cloak a low level can scan it and alert it and you know what happens next.

2) Yes and no. The more cloak you have, the fewer people have you on their BT. Those who see you are those that spend a lot of decks on scanners, which weakens their ships a lot more than a decent amount of cloak will weaken yours. Sure, there will be much higher levels that will be able to turn your ship is some fancy cheese, but who, might I ask, is more likely to show up on anyone's tab between the guy with cloak and the guy without it?

You say you get disabled maybe once a day or let's say every other day? Well guess what, I've been using cloak for as long as I can recall and I haven't even been disabled once a week. In fact, half my disables happened when I was under rank 20 and was getting bullied by some rank 30, lol.

That said, assuming he's using the cloak he's researched, it should be good enough for those ranks. Energy and buildings will serve him better for now.

I believe you meant 'invisible' not 'invincible'. Half the time a low ranker will not alert a hostile planet, because not one of my planets have ever been even close to being invaded. Also they may have alot of scanners leaving them with few weapons, but you have devoted alot of space for cloaking, so there's a stalemate. The reason why I've been disabled about once A WEEK is because Delta Surfers has had a few skirmishes recently and I've been hitting alot of people recently. And I don't use the cloak I've researched because as I said before, I find it useless.

And good for you for not being disabled since rank 20... which I find hard to believe.

Actually not really... I was lets see rank 40? I kept 1 cloak module on for a long time. I hadnt been disabled till around rank 80.
Cloak is one of the best assets in game if you know how to balance it. Im not disabled for weeks sometimes.
