I honestly just built up based on my work hours. I am gone for 10-11 hours and have set it so I am just about at max for research and artifact when I get home. Anything extra goes into mining. But I trade alot of artifacts for credits with my wife...she is a harsh trader though...

Quote: Right now, I'm staying above 20k. I really want another cargo pod and 20k is what you need to get one. I keep getting Alien Star Charts which are 10K so I lose a big chunk that way. AP - cargo space-wise, tessaracts are cheaper/more efficient than the pods. You say you keep getting Alien Star Charts like it's a bad thing.

The odds of getting what you want will outweigh efficiency of AP at points. I wouldn't imagine turning down doubling my odds of getting what I want if it means I save rank points. Having cargo and having more deckspace at the same time can be invaluable. Some members of my organaization I am GD jealous of in terms of artifacts that they have saved up due to actually having more cargo space. It allows you much more freedom and if it is free, there is no reason to say no.

My cargo space size sure grows faster and faster as my AP/hr goes up.. It's now almost 1600.. Gee.. I love AP production. It's addicting.. Lot of benefits associating with AP production. It would be nice for Dan to add more artifacts especially post 20k cost, however so I won't have any reason to stick to 8k threshold anymore..

Got any ideas for what these artifacts may be, Noci? Dan might be looking for ideas...

My research fills up in 7 hours but I have 3 or 4 terras I could switch over to artifacts. I actually try to cash in at 4k aiming for rescued prisoners and ship-bots. I don't think I have any icy planets and I have plenty of cargo and all the 5-6k artifacts got essentially nixed. An artifact to raise research capacity seems in order to allow people a research-heavy strategy. How much does the vygoid bonus raise the cap by?

? The Research Data Archive does that already, Spoony.

webguydan wrote: Players now have the ability to use special structures ('Warehouses') on planets that increase the total mineral, artifact and/or research production capacity. These are considered premium structures, and will typically only be available from special missions, Galaxy Points, and rare encounters. Warehouses will take up a large amount of space on planets, so players should construct them only if necessary.
The currently available warehouse structures are available on the artifact market:
Mineral Storage Tower Increases your total planetary mineral production capacity by 1000 units.
Artifact Warehouse Increases your total planetary artifact production capacity by 2000 points.
Research Data Archive Increases your total research production capacity by 1000 points. Posted on 18 Sep in the "Patches and Updates" section. I think this pretty much answers the original question of the thread.

Untold truth is he nerfed the caps that we get normally -- never been close to a cap then maxed out today *boggle*.

Are you sure you didn't just increase your production, or go longer than normal between logins? I have the same Mineral and Artifact storage caps that I had since my last planet colonization two days ago, and a slightly higher Research cap due to leveling.

Research seems to max out faster now... the others were unchanged.

I've just checked my cap. It's slightly higher than the last time I checked, but i've gone up a level or two since I last checked. So the cap seems fine for me.
It takes me 15 hours to reach my cap. If you're getting there too quickly, buy a research data archive, or level up a bit without increasing your research output if you can.

well if its maxing out in 6 hours then you have a lot per hour. so if you check your account periodically throughout the day it should balance out.

Your average production per a planet goes from ~100 to ~250 from level 80-250. The amount of planets you have goes by level and so does your limits, so it becomes a consideration at one point or another if you can't sleep without loss. Energy refills take so long at those levels, that any waste just seems unacceptable. You really can't focus on research without the limit-raising artifacts. It doesn't seem particularly smart considering how much everything costs and how many artifact points can be stored, but we get the planets we get. I would really base my domestic strategy around the planets I get and it would seem silly if that were a limiting factor since they are all rather malleable in terms of how one can compensate.
