I've heard time and again that the best/fastest way to get Complex Tech Parts is to trade other legions for them.

I've mentioned this to others in my legion and they argue that we don't talk much to other legions we have pacts with, so why would they trade with us? But I think there has to be a better way.

I'm not a Leader because it'd be more work than I'm prepared to handle, but I'm an Officer and I think I'm listened to, generally, if I can present a good argument. I'm also our Legion's resident obsessive Wiki reader. (Our Leader didn't know that you could melt Icy planets into Oceanics until I told him and he was 100 levels higher than me at the time. *grin*)

We have a few trade pacts, but I'm not really sure what the protocol is for offering a trade.

What's considered a good trade for Complex Tech Parts? I'm guessing that, rare as they are, most trade-able artifacts wouldn't be worth much. So, Political Favor? Prejoran Tech? (I'd have to see if anybody has some of the latter to spare.) Exotic Matter for higher level players? What kind of ratio would an average, knowledgeable player consider reasonable?

Does anybody have suggestions or thoughts on this? Am I completely off-base? Am I playing the game wrong because of a nostalgic fondness for Settlers of Catan?

Artifacts are generally easy to trade for CTP.

I believe CTP has gone up in value.

A friend of mine managed to sell CTP at the rate of 1CTP=17KU. He then proceeded to buy Exotic matter and then apparently traded like 2.5k em for 300 CTP or something
