So, today I got disabled. (rare thing for me). Personally, I don't mind getting disabled but what I do hate are tactical inner bypasses. No matter how good your ship is, if someone has a few bypasses your a sitting duck. At low ranks they are really overpowered. It only disabled my dominions and 1 of 3 researched weapons, but that was enough to more than half my attack.

So are tactical inner bypasses just good strategy or noobism?

its strategy you use it to take out sombody you have a problem with thats way above your rank.

That's what they're for. The problem for those choosing to use them is they likely have an underpowered ship and well you only have so many tib's and you may have just angered someone stronger then you.

when I took Exotica about a month ago we ultimately lost the planet because we had these bypasses stacked on us, all our defenders were hacked and ALL our weapons and defenses were taken out faster than we could reinstall, we got disabled, and Exotica was then promptly taken from me by PSICore while I was trying to re-guard, repair, reinstall my weapons/defenses, AND put my traps back up. I could keep up with all of this until they used the bypass....

This was exactly the point. I disabled someone off of the battle tab unbuffed and off of the back of multiple other kills, as you do, and he retaliated with a bypass and a couple of other artifacts.



Totally agree, I personally think they should be knocked down to 2 modules or removed entirely. They are way too powerful for 5 badges.

In this case, the attack was around my rank but with a horrid ship (although a deadly rep...somehow).

Personally, I think if you are forced to use a bypass to kill someone then don't bother.

Counting researched tech (including my shields), NPC drops, mission drops and tier rewards I have 84 modules listed under weapons and defense/shields. One TIB is not going to make a significant difference to my ship unless it "randomly" disables 5 of my thetacrons... Its strategy plain and simple. Of course you're going to have that occasional jackwagon, but they show up anyway from time to time anyway.

Maybe I am missing something, but 5 Blue Badges seems to me like an awfully high cost to get one disable. I would think that the one ship must have really pissed you off to throw away your Blue Badges like that.

That depends on 2 things... (1) How easily you can get hacks on your battle tab and (2) how bad the target pissed you off.

The TIB isn't so much for GETTING the disable, it's more about MAKING IT EASIER.

They're definitely not overpowered. Speaking as someone who has an insane rep I've run into a few people that are weaker ships and they try and respond with a TIB it is what it is. I can disable them and they do what they can to fend me off and maybe disable me. It's all fair it isn't and certainly shouldn't be against the rules but I probably will disable raid hack you again because you had the audacity to fight back. It is what it is.

Nope, no sarcasm. Trash talking generally isn't my style and it was a sincere apology about the trap. I'd just hit 5 already and I was getting fed up with waiting out halcs and KVTs!

I think I have fought Pwon before, but I have no grudges against him. If I had had a grudge he would have been alerted and probably zeroed.

Easily done, and it's him who took it badly - not you.

And to me, his ship is mediocre at best. I've fought alot of people. After almost 700 kills you have a good experience of strong and weak ships. I've certainly faced far stronger.

So, put plain and simple. At high ranks the TIB sucks, and at low ranks it's overpowered? That sucks...
