Post subject:  Tachycon Cylinder + Subspace seeker glitch

Tachycon Cylinders and Subspace seekers aren't effected by the explorer bonus. This makes me sad, as I feel I am losing out on 45 scan. Please fix. :)

My scan before explorer is 271.
After explorer it is 325
After Tachycon Cylinder it is 375
After Subspace seeker it is 500
After Tachycon + Subspace seeker it is 550.

Your math doesn't add up. If your base scan is 271, then after Explorer it should be 325. All good so far, but...
Tachyon Cylinder (Temporarily increases the scanning capability of your ship by 50) will make it 375.
Subspace Seeker (Temporarily increases the scanning capability of your ship by 175) will make it 500.

Now, Tachyon + Subspace WILL equal 550.

Read the item description again. "The scanning capability of your ship" is 325. So 325 + 50 + 175 = 550 It is for this reason you should ALWAYS use tachyon cylinders and subspace seekers BEFORE using continuum beacons and stryll seekers that give a percent bonus to the "scanning capability of your ship"

it's weird.... seems it's one of the few places in this game where the order effects are applied actually makes a difference

yes math does matter... If your base scan number = x, then (x + 50 + 175) * 1.15% is going to be larger than (x * 1.15%) + 50 + 175

This also can be used with the QFT and quantum overload, the Stable Overcharge effect and Krionus virus and various other effects.
