Step 1 Max Hull (VERY important Hull is KING) Step 2 Max Guns (also important after you have 5x of the best hulls get the best guns) Step 3 Max Defense Step 4 Max Energy Step 5 Max Sheild. That is all. |

I "get by" in PvP with around 1000 attack (run 3 heavy quantums, 2 Dominion #1s and some extras), around 500 defence (4 dark rings, plus extras), 800 hull and 150 shields (I run 1 merged nanosphere (researching last tier of q-phased) and 1 vortul, and no shield modules). That's at rank 116 - use that as a guideline. I'd say get more energy - I know you're a slow ranker, but more energy = more attacks. |

If you're just interested in blocking hacks then scan works out better than cloak. It also helps a bit with crit hits. I'm not a slow ranker/PvP player but the value of hull versus defence is relevant to me. I just wonder if it'd be better to have higher defence and a smaller hull? Dark Ring Thrusters were all I used (for NPC hunting) till about rank 180-200 when ship repair costs were cheaper but when I switched to more expensive ship parts I had to focus on my defence. Went with defence tech rather than hull and I think it worked out well for me. You should be able to see The Dark Ring at level 60. Might be better to hit that than research defence tech. Cheaper to run too. The XP bonus might be a little annoying for your strategy though. I don't really bother which shields. Finally researching Obviation tech to get the planet structure at rank 368. (Would have done it earlier but I had to research into the top tier of weapons and defences for the legion base). It means I am an easier target for high rank players but 5057 defence tends to put a lot of players off. Guess the big bonus of slow rank PvP is getting those Mk3 Dominion Cannons. I still ain't got one of those yet. Keep eating traps. |

Also, if you're raiding the Protean Armory battle market ship part is a pretty nice little upgrade to hull. Raiding gains no XP but it's hard if you've not got much of a crew. |

So they have almost 2 decks each. |

Max Weapons! (after all you are PvPing) Max Hull Max Defense Max Shield Then whatever else, maybe energy. Key things** Slow ranking, do not install cloak for scanners. Only the NPC or mission ones. At least put 1 rank put into Tac. Officer, and 4 into deck, you can get helmsmen later. |

yeah i was wondering where everyone else was going w/ this thread... 1 of the best hull you can get 1 of the best weapon you can get 1 of the best defense you can get then continue to fill the decks... i usually go H W D W D H W D W D H W D W D H W D W D H while filling decks, use the 4 best defenses first, then the next 4 defenses should be the best of the next lower tier if i run out of space before i hit the end, i'll usually delete one defense (the smaller ones if i'm already at 5 or more) and max out my remaining decks with hulls |

I don't PVP very much, but once you get max everything, you should grab extra modules. If you want hull, do the missions that give you Kalvium Plating, since the combined 10% hull bonus is awesome. Some other other missions give you pretty good missions, and do some NPC bossing to grab other bonuses. That's my suggestions. |

I have 324 decks. ![]() 12 decks for defenses+hull+anything else I want Sorry, i became aware of your rank afterwards, therefore i would have to say maybe 3-4 of your best weapon...maybe Dom cannons if ya have them, and then hull and defense. I would suggest maybe 2 defenses and the rest hull, if you are a heavy PvPer than all 5 hulls should be equiped. |
