I am lvl 213 atm. I have 352 engineers but, I see people saying they have like a thousand. So how many is good to have and should I be continuing to grow them over time or just sit at a certain amount.

Thanks for your opinions.

Grow over time.
Its really up to you how many , but I like to have my engineers 3 times my rank , if you need more then 1 energy refill to rank then you may want some more.

More energy is nice but the more energy you have the faster you will rank up. And you basically make a tin can of a ship for your rank. Sometimes you need to slow down so you allow your ship to gather artifacts to upgrade your ship

You can never have enough engineers. If you can tolerate your current decks/build, then do engineers. Energy gives you linear XP gains, while attack increase gives non-linear decreasing gains. Also, more ranks = more planets, as long as you can purge enough or get them from legion mates, which leads to more AP/RP, which leads to faster development. I prefer high energy builds, most pvpers prefer deck based low energy builds so they have a "strong ship for their rank" which is fine if all you want from this game is pvp stats, but I don't see much point to slowing down unless you are forced to.

More energy doesn't necessarily "make you rank", it just lets you rank if you want to. You can put it into base for a low XP return, run purgers for more planet scans, there are several ways to waste energy if you don't want to rank fast. It reduces your charge downtime as well between ranks, so you are running off the rank up energy refill more often than not.

Amen. I just wish I had put more into engineers earlier on

A good amounnt of them would be equal to or more than the total energy taken away from you by relays and energy draining weapons so that your reactors actually aren't equalling the energy taken away, it's up to you how you do it but that's the way I look at it, though too much is definately a problem

depends what you do in this game. Seems pvpers prefer lots of decks. For Npc players i think after massive levianth or star destroyer i reckon engineers and tactical officers are useful. Mission players want loads of engineers. Slow rankers probably dont want engineers.

Actually, the reverse could be said. If you have engineers, (only enough to satisfy your energy needs), you wouldn't need to install energy cores. No energy cores means no upkeep on cores and no deckspace used. Upkeep and decks can be utilized for modules that you DO need for your playstyle.

517 1/2 is the best amount.

You have to have the 1/2, otherwise your not employing disabled people and then you get sued.

(for the benefit of the easily offended, terminally stupid and any disabled person playing this game, yes, I am calling a disabled person 1/2 a person BUT only for the purpose of a dumb arse joke. This statement does not reflect my personal opinion, nor the opinions of Dan or anyone else who works or contributes to Galaxy Legion. Disabled people should have full and equal rights, but that includes being the target of piss taking on occasion, otherwise you will be left out when the rest of the short/fat/ugly/stupid/thin/tall/brainy/black/white/male/female/common/classy/anyone I have momentarily forgotten, are having the piss taken out of them by me. I am an equal opportunities bastard. Not that my jokes have ever caused offence before or anything.....)

What's better than winning gold in the Paraplegic Olympics? Walking.

(PS - I've worked for the disability movement. We can still laugh at a joke even if there's a terrible disadvantage to what we're joking about in the real world.)

Yeah I know, thin people get offended about fat jokes, able bodied people about disabled jokes etc etc for the most part anyway.

In all honesty, it was for the able bodied that I put the disclaimer in!! lol

speaking of engineers and jokes and such....

How many software engineers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

None, that's hardware, not software.
