I have never scanned an aphotic planet and have never started or completed the mission. I need to know if it's even possible to find them on a scan run if I haven't done the mission yet. If I do the mission before hand that would solve the potential dilemma but also clog my planet list early rather than just after I blitz. |

You can see them, but they do have 1200 passive cloak. |

yes even a lvl 1 person can scan planets of ANY type... as long as you have more scan than the cloak on the planet (which is why it's hard for lowbies to find good planets since the good taken ones have nice cloak) oh... and don't forget... a little cloak on a planet goes a long way if they're in a high membercount legion.... 1200 cloak in a legion w/ 60 folks = 2640 cloak after legion bonus |

And thanks for the answers. I was just wondering if that was the reason for so many cloaked planets my last 2 runs with what I thought was a decent scan tech. |

What he means is once you've done this mission the planet will be able to be scanned by others afterwards whereas it didn't really exist prior |

I can verify for a fact that Aphotics can be scanned by people who have not done the mission. I liberated a Vorigar from the tyranny of PA well before I started the mission. Shame Funkycorgi had to go and ruin my benevolent stewardship of the planet.... ![]() |

But maybe those people are *happier* now that they're working the salt mines, Darth! |
