Okay:

Remove the shields, research better hull and use that (Nexus).
PvP lots and try and get the Mk3 dominions. Your just getting to the point where it becomes difficult to PvP, so do what you can NOW.
Upgrade to Antiprotons

If you give me your exact number of decks, I'll draw up how I would arrange your ship. I have to agree though, that you hull tech especially is lacking.

Heavy Battleship, actually. About 15 decks away from the next size up (485 decks). Also, I've added a Light Antiproton Cannon to the weapons. I didn't like parting with my shields, but I added more hull anyways. Nearly 2500 unbuffed. I'll be focusing my research into hull for now, like you said. PVP isn't really my thing, but I suppose I can grab the dominion cannons.
