You turn a Terra into it with The Gaia Seed , It comes from the mission The Drannik Extinction.

Strange, that's the exact amount of defence as my mega colossal has. More attack though.

The best part is only 4 space is being used for things that don't give resources , but I can't make more then 1 that good , as I used a lot of limited artifacts.

thats some damn sexy stats, any chance of seeing your structures??

also could some more people answer this question, preferably top players. What is the amount of ATT and DEF that would put you off trying for a planet?

I'm currently 529 and have gotten lots of lucky rolls on planets with 15k+ vs invasion

the only thing that really deters people from invading planets is the 'Invincible' status. Doesn't matter how much attack and def a planet has, most planets like that get legion shared and everyone gets to roll an invasion chance at it, whoever gets it keeps it.

Then realistically, nothing can protect you from the top 20 legions.

So our planets may as well just have enough cloak to stop them being seen by lower level players.

Essentially without there being some sort of limit being imposed upon dogpilers, any ATT / DEF is useless.

In fact with the top legions all abusing the alert system the way they do, is there any-point in protecting anything that cant be made invulnerable.

The best planet protection is cloak and a huge legion bonus.

How much cloak can you put on a planet without losing a reasonable amount of production?

Many people can get well over 10k scan, which means you would need MORE then that.. calculate the space required to get 10k even 13k cloak..

Please do that- i love planets with lots of cloak and no defence or attack- I am in a legion that hovers around 15- we tend to alert planets when we miss invasion as well- not sure how this is an abuse of the alert system- it is more what it is for. If you find a tactic works- why stop using it- and if you don't do it yourself- why not?

There are limits on invasions- one a day- this to me appears perfectly adequate

Is something an abuse because someone uses it more effectively than you do or can? toughen up princess

Inverse-Flux Satellites 7 space Cloak +800

10400 cloak

13 * 800 = 10400

13 * 7 = 91 space

= impossible to protect via cloak

Essentially with the current model all desirable planets will be in the hands of the top 1% of legions within a year or less. With nothing to keep this trend (planetary dog-piling) in check there is essentially no point in defending with either cloak or ATT/DEF.
In fact unless you started playing 6 months ago, there is probably no point in playing the game at all, well not if you want nice planets that is.

Using A Research Based Very Massive Oceanic(Melted Very Large Icy);

Passive Cloak - 3500 Cloak
1 Space - Dark Anti Beacon - 150 Cloak +500 Defense
1 Space - Dark Pylon Shifter - 90 Cloak +400 Defense
1 Space - Silthion Gas Vesicle - 150 Cloak +2 Research
1 Space - Chron Shifter - 300 Cloak
1 Space - Permafrost Sub-Network - 100 - 100 Population +2 Research
1 Space - Zolazin Void Tower - 100 Cloak
1 Space - Void Barrier Chassis - 110 Cloak
1 Space - Shadin Hypergrid Network - +2 Research +200 Defense
1 Space - Interrogation Stronghold - +2 Research +300 Defense
2 Space - Counter-Intelligence Nexus - 150 Cloak +2 Research
2 Space - Modified Grid-Pylon - 150 Cloak +2 Research +200 Defense
2 Space - 2 x Sha'jha Uplink - 240 Cloak +4 Research
3 Space - RSL Data Uplink - 100 Cloak +3 Research +50 Defense
14 Space - 2 x Inverse-Flux Satellite - 1600 Cloak

1 Space - Ergosphere Filter - 150 Cloak +20% Cloak

One Void Shell Every 24 Hours.

36 Space - 2 +12 Research Buildings

So thats 69/69 Space for 8388 Cloak / 43 Research / 100 Population / 1650 Defense.

Presuming a legion of 50 active members thats a cloak of 16,776 Cloak.

Thankyou kirkeastment that was perfect info (i think)

so again this proves that unless you are one of the top players in the top legions, there is not much point in trying to defend at all, maybe we can hope to successfully defend a handful of our top planets with them buffed with every possible artifact but the vast majority of our planets may as well be crammed with resource buildings with perhaps a tiny % of space used as deterants for weaker players.

With some of the top ships having 20k attack and 20k def or even a lot more in a few rare cases, even dyson's wouldnt be much of a problem to conquer, even with a full legion bonus totalling over 20k att and def.

One of the reasons they are now invincible.

So really there needs to be some way of layering planetary combat in the same way NPC bases are handled. It seems a little unfair at the moment. It feels like the whole GL universe is there solely for the top 10s consumption.

hmm, looks like the occupy wallstreet movement might need to spend some time at Dans house

[EDIT] i guess when all is said and done it turns out to be a perfect model of our (corrupt) society. :ugeek:

But you forget, no matter how much attack you have.. there is *ALWAYS* 10% chance of failing!
And trust me.. i have failed well over 20 planets with 90% chance of invasion! many several times in a row.

Now with cloak, 1pt scan over your cloak = I SEE IT (if the RNG roll sout your planet on the first roll)
WHEN i see your planet.. cloak is useless, and since "you" went with cloak.. ill have it much easier to take that planet.
