So I took a planet that had the

Subterranean Caverns : Defense +30%

effect on it. When I took it, it was a VL Desert with its best resource as Very Abundant. So I figured that the effect wasn't put on with a Transfuser. I've since been Urbanizing it, and figured I'd see if a Transfuser could be used. It could! And this was added:

Planetary Rings : Production +20%

So yes, you can have a natural Permanent effect and a Transfused one on the same planet. And the language of the Transfuser is *exactly* what it says - you CAN'T use it on a planet that you've Transfused, but you CAN use it if there's a natural effect!

'Such an effect' must mean a Reality Transduced effect only - I didn't try using it on one of my mission planets that already had a Transducer effect on it.

That's not how it works, you can't just decide what "such an effect" means, it has to come from something preceding it. The only type of effect preceding this is "a permanent random" effect, so "such an" means "a permanent random," that's the only thing it could be referring to, and it must be referring to something actually in the description.

you cannot use the reality transfuser on a planet that has an analyzed permanant random effect...
...there are some permanant random effects that don't require analyzing

I was thinking, I know the Caverns aren't supposed to come from the Transfuser, so perhaps they don't count in this regard?

That's possible - does the transfuser produce anything except

Large Moons
Small Moon
Planetary Rings
Advanced Civilization Ruins

Was thinking, What if a Planet got natural 20%, Then when you transfuse it, it gets them again?

There should already be checks for that, because that could happen in the usual order too (using a Transducer and then getting another effect), so it is likely Dan has made sure that won't happen in either case. So far we only know the Transducer works on a planet that has an effect the Transducer can't produce anyway, though.

and besides... dan has already said that a planet that has a transfused effect that also receives an analyzable random effect won't get the same effect twice... (can't have 2 sets of large moons or 2 sets of rings)
