Post subject:  Is PVP dying?
I have seen less and less PVP since the new system.

Asking around a lot of people have told me that its because of all the traps. Others say they don't do it anymore because the only way to get the planet enhancing artifacts is through NPC so they save it for that.

A few do say that they still PVP but not nearly as much as they NPC

I personally do a lot more NPC mainly because everyone has traps on now so you can't actually fight before you get truced.

What do you guys thing?

Lol no.. Traps are alot easier and nothing now than before. I did LOT of PVP when halcyon lasted 4 hours and firewalls lasted 8 whopping hours but that didn't stop me from lot of PVP. I learned to be patient.. Now, traps became too easy thanks to restriction.. That actually makes PVP more fun than before. The reason why PVP was heated and well used was because of lack of NPC plus we had DOO where DOO members and I PVP'ed so much during early times. Since the new legion system came in along with improved NPC system, it triggered some changes in GL. I stopped doing PVP so are many of my friends who also stopped doing PVP.. So you can see reduced PVP lately at high rank area but lower rank area is still heavy on PVP..

Heh, don't tell me that traps were the reason why PVP was reduced. Traps are just nothing now.. Hit halycon trap. No big deal, simply wait 1 hour then kill that person off.. Victory! I had to endure F-O-U-R hours before I kill almost all the time but it took me as high as 900 kills, high hack and raid under old trap system.

I see that there are already existing legions dedicated to PVPing in game. It's just that you are too high rank that no one wants to fight you in PVP that you might see reduced PVP.. My friend just joined GL and he faces lot of PVP already even today..

i dont think its dying, evolving yes but dying no....i engage in pvp on a daily basis, wether through alerts or the battle page...actual i think alot of people pvp these days

It seams that way, nobody seams to be all that trigger happy or at least know how to fight.

As someone said it isn't dying but it is evolving. Especially at my level. Now yes there are days I don't attack or get hit by anyone but some of that is due to my cloaking level. When I click the battle tab I see more and more people over 30 levels above me and plenty of them are in substantial legions that I have no desire to tangle with over an extended period of time.

Today for instance I spent some time doing jobs and upgrading a few planets that needed it. I also spent some time adjusting my ship configuration. The rest of my time was spent completing a few missions I was near finishing. And yesterday i spent a good portion of the day defending Legion Members from a couple of people my level. So Yesterday I spent most of the day in battle and thus today have spent it elsewhere.

I like the combat system that is in place currently though I do not necessarily fight on a daily basis.

Some of the issues are ones of Level as I'm seeing it. A lot of my lower level members are finding themselves targets of higher levels looking for easy kills. Which is why I can spend an entire day smacking around one of these aggressors. I've disabled one particular aggressor (same level as me) 2 or 3 times now for assaulting a couple of my level 40 members. And all this guy has ever been able to do to me is throw an Omicron net around me. :lol: He can't even put up a fight against a player his own size but will freely bash someone 1/2 his rank. So for me to take this guy on is easy to do. he's my rank so he will be stuck fighting me until he moves on or learns to use his calming amplifiers. :twisted:

But this is just what I've seen. I've seen other people say very similar things so I'm sure we just need to give it some time and see where things develop.

Its defiantly not dead, its just now people want my planets instead of my head. And Krauzen dosnt seem to realize that the moment I can fund it im going to shove a stick of dynamite up his @$$.

It certainly isn't for me. I always manage to find a ship without a legion, and they always have reactors at the cost of having no defenses whatsoever. :twisted:

:? well i would hardly call that a fair fight. try picking on some that have a few similar level members in their legion. thats real PvP. its only fun if they have the ability to fight back and return fire if they choose to. PvP is evolving to be Legion vs Legion, so the sooner people realize this the better. this is going to expand conflicts far faster than ever before.

It already is involving Legions..... My own Legion can attest to this. Their is one Legion that one particular target of ours ran to after taking on a few people he shouldn't have.... :twisted: Overall the Legions are actually fairly equal with the exception of 4 of us in My Legion. These 4 of us are far stronger then anyone in the opposing alliance can stand up to. So they pretty much leave us alone and chase after the level 20-low 70's rank (Only their Level 75 - 84) can take out our Mid 60's to 70's.

Consequently every time I log in I find yet another member (or possibly one I've smashed around already) resorting to their old tactics of smashing lower levels yet again. Recharge energy and it's off to the races for me and time for some target practice. And Oh yeah I'm going to attempt to single handedly Hack all their planet locations.. :mrgreen: Got a couple of them already (Mostly crap planets) but sooner or later I'll take a couple good ones from them. :twisted:
